Reiterating why I tailor my stakes, as I talk about it daily. Let’s start with why I don’t like Lucky15s. A L15 is 15 bets. A yankee (11 bets) plus the 4 singles. Reasoning… the singles shouldn’t be the same stake as a 4fold. How often do you get 4/4? Once or twice a year. So why waste such a high percentage of the bet on such small chances? What has the highest chance of landing? The single What has the second highest chance of landing? A double What has the next chance (after the 4 single opportunities and the 6 double opportunities)? A treble What has a tiny chance of landing? The 4fold So why are the singles the same stake as a 4fold? Bookies dream. An example here: Let’s just say I had £33 to bet on 4 horses at decent odds (let’s say 4/1 and above) … I wouldn’t do a £1.10 each way lucky15 (£33) or a £1.50 each way yankee (£33). I would probably do: - £2 each way doubles (£24) - £1 each way trebles (£8) - 50p each way 4fold (£1) £33 Tailored stakes. This works for the smaller odds horses too. Let’s say they are all evens. A lucky £15 would be £1 singles, £1 doubles, £1 trebles and a £1 4fold. If one lands… you get £2 back. What is the point? If two land… you get £8 back. Still not much point. I would want more than £8 back if I landed two winners. I’d be thinking here, ok… the singles are pointless. So with that £15 I’d probably go for: £1.75 win doubles (£10.50) £1 win trebles (£4) 50p win 4fold Tailored stakes with the £15. I may even just do trebles and the 4fold. For example… £3.50 trebles and £1 4fold… because let’s be honest, if I’ve found 4 shorties at evens… I’d be wanting at least 3 to win… especially with £15. Anyway, the first case study is a better example. Lucky15s are the bookies dream. Be smart. Maximise your returns in the long run. Caveat… if all 4 do win of course your return would be higher with the yankee at ratio stakes… but let’s be honest, when do all 4 ever land? If only 2 land (far more likely) you’ll make more money this way. If 3 win (small chance) it depends on the folds and stake choices. In the long run you’ll make more money for sure IMO. Be smart. I’m not suggesting my way of doing it with 4 selections is the best way for sure as it depends on how much you fancy the horses and the odds etc however, if this post helps just one person think about their staking properly… and benefits their mindset… then it’s worth it Over and out

@DFrankcom Sir Gino as Henderson quite openly said if con hill doesn’t win he will send sir Gino down the hurdles route. Lavender hill mob as I don’t think it’s going to get the hill at Cheltenham
