@Redhawkfour4 @greenery2x As much as I'd liked to see more that scions divided or personally Krile, Its in the past, I still rather have what we got and have them improve going forward. They have a good start in patch quests so gotta hope they keep it on track.

@ElecTunes @greenery2x Two big things that frustrate me that nobody talks about: The whole "scions divided" selling point for the dlc that boiled down to ONE INTERACTION IN A DUNGEON. More people should be frustrated abt that Supposedly English localization butchered Wuk Lamat's character a lot.

@LaBlueSkuld @greenery2x Yeah, that kinda hits majority of the nail on the head here too. Even when they expand with Criterion/Chaotic/Fieldmissions whichever... MT Crit was a huge disapointment in rewards. Chaotic is worth it but is just pain. And Cresent I don't really know personally.

@ElecTunes @greenery2x Dawntrail has issues but a most if not all of them come from the fact the game follows a very rigid design structure that they refuse to stray from. Even the story flaws can be partially attributed to how every expac has 6 zones, dungeons on odd levels and Trials at x3 and x9.

@wolfgangbright @greenery2x That's literally it, thank you. Like I didn't like DT msq till patch quests, it's improving to more my taste. My problems are with game systems like rewards in content. I want to discuss them. The harder content has been peak to me.

@ElecTunes @greenery2x We can discuss structural issues just fine. I liked DT but I'm not blind to the bad pacing or how it treats the cast. The problem is that when we try to legit discuss it, the reasonable convo tends to get highjacked by anti-trans nonsense.

@ErynRico It's very hard to gauge in a proper way, both had struggling MSQ for different reasons, but both have good playable content. They're pretty much on even field imho for that reason.

Now that we are approaching the end of Dawntrail. Which Final Fantasy 14 expansion was worse?

@RisfelVT It feels nearly impossible to constructively discuss anything improvement related in the game. It somehow always goes into something completely unrelated. I just wanna raid man.

This is something I have spoken on several times and even tried to warn my peers interested in the game. I think it's good that you just want to play the game. But these people don't see what I have seen for years. I've criticized the game for its job balance, ok nothing is being done about that. I coped with it. I've pointed out that the crafting for raiding is faulty and demands your time which inevitably makes people purchase a bot. Everyone bots. I coped with it. But the moment the story is something everyone can fall back on being trustworthy suddenly isn't received well because of certain localizers promoting the modern agenda, you lose the trust of the majority of people who liked everything from 6.0 and backwards. Everything from the game systems, job balance, raid scene, RP community and such are factors that have built up the resentment that has the playerbase so divided. Then there's the people who go "it doesn't bother me" or "I just do my own thing". These problems don't just go away because you choose not to engage in them. Hell I didn't want to engage with it until it was shoved in my face when someone can't accept that I'm not here to build a safe space for them. I'm here to raid prog and to win. So I quit the game because the unchecked "peaceful and tolerant" side of the community is the most catered minority, and it is no longer made to cater to veterans like me who loved every story beat even with some flaws. And I have to like and accept these people who don't even play or like the game as much as I did? Fuck that. I really worry about Fanfest 2026. Even if nothing happens, this will always leave a dark mark in the game's history. I'm done with my rant.

@_Aemeath_ It's free to play not free. Gacha games are more expensive in resources be it monetary or time than most paid games.

@TheReunionVII I saw so often any character criticism deflected to hating the va, personally didn't find the va work an issue. Wuk Lamat herself was just poorly written and annoying with the dialogue alone.

Take FF14 Dawntrail for example, fans clearly laid out the issue with the story, pacing, and poor character writing and YouTubers and even SE employees told devs it was all just hate content from right winged activist. The game flopped because feedback was brushed off as hate

Well, the economy is a mess and bigger devs are tone deaf because they just want to charge more. Meanwhile Silksong broke Steam and that was only 20 bucks. Expedition 33 sold like gangbusters and that was 50 bucks. It’s almost like a smaller budget with clear passion and reasonable pricing will end up paying off more than dumping a billion dollars into a game and trying to say it’s a “100$” experience >.>

Mods should not be something you earn money from especially when you recreate a character from a different IP. It's scummy as fuck. It should be something you make for fun and/or learn somthing from. If you wanna earn money for things you created have a tip jar do not paywall it.
