Dr. Ajith Kumar was one of our best. Deeply engaged with the forests and his students, he combined rigour and intensity in teaching with the stimulation of love and appreciation of the natural world around us. His presence was ubiquitous, and he was always available to travel, teach and get involved. He will be much missed.

direct costs support researchers' salaries and equipment. indirect costs pay for heat, water, and electricity in the buildings, machine shops, libraries, infrastructure, repairs in the buildings, facilities, etc, without which research is impossible. administration is a small part of it. why are you focusing on administration? researchers need electricity to use the equipment. 15% indirect will kill biomedical research in the US

This is when you realize just the unfathomable scale of the US propaganda apparatus, when freezing funding for its agency supposedly focused on "foreign aid" throws "journalism around the world into chaos" given that hundreds of millions of that "aid" was for funding "independent" (😏) media.

An interfaith came to get married as per law - to a court premises. And the couple was beaten and is now being “investigated” This is not a break down of law and order. This the new apartheid legal system in action.

MP | Triggering | It is frightening to watch what a young #interfaith couple in India is going through - just to marry legally. As law-abiding citizens, they follow provisions of the Special Marriage Act, but their details get leaked from the Court. When an interfaith couple came to marry in Bhopal Court on Friday afternoon, their details were already out in public. Subsequently, R/W supported lawyers, called VHP and other fanatics, who brutally assaulted the Muslim youth inside the Court premises. Now, the Police are investigating the couple, as usual, not the assailants. Yes ! You heard it right. Same incident reported in Uttrakhand two days ago.
