The level of ignorance here regarding climate change is simply astonishing. This is an existential threat to the human species and yet there are still some saying things like, "It's summer" and "Just a hot day" or "warmer when I was young" Incredible!
RS Archer@archer_rs

Apparently climate change is a myth.

@ZiaYusufUK Employers will simply stop paying people on an hourly rate and put them on a fixed salary at fixed hours. If you're salaried, any overtime you do is unpaid.

It’s time to stop PUNISHING people who work the hardest and drowning them in taxes like the Tory Labour uniparty. A Reform government will ABOLISH INCOME TAX on overtime pay. Britain was built on the hard labour of people who go the extra mile. Thank you!

@Telegraph Read the article guys, he's not talking 'unemployed' per se. 'The “unemployable”, he argued, should be supported by the state – but, in return, they should relinquish “all citizen rights”, including “the franchise” and “fatherhood”.

@EVEYOUN06463999 @archer_rs Right handed. But it also presupposes that the bowler - left- or right-arm - is bowling over, rather than round, the wicket ... and of course if it was a left-handed batter the square leg umpire would also be on the other side of the wicket.

@antmiddleton @BBCSport The US PGA Tour separates UK players by their individual country within the UK - it's how they've always done it. Rory McIlroy is shown as Northern Irish and if you scroll down a long way you will find Robert Macintyre has a Scots flag next to his name. pgatour.com/leaderboard

@fasc1nate This is a still from the movie Grand Prix. The original is in colour and was used as the movie poster. The driver is actor James Garner. The Monza banking was not used for the actual Italian GP after 1962. Bettmann had no involvement in this.

@donmcgowan As I understand it, the Labour rules mean he would only have to resign the mayoralty if he wins the by-election as it would be a 'second job'. Dan Norris was both an MP and WECA mayor for ten months (July 2024 to May 2025), but the rule change only came in in September 2024.

🎆An interesting day in politics🎆 Farage on the ropes. Rayner in the clear. Starmer keeps calm and carries on while Streeting walks. But by far the most intriguing story, in my opinion, is the one of Josh Simons in Makerfield. This is at once a brave and potentially disastrous move by the 2024 intake, acting under Burnham's auspices. Results from local elections in Makerfield wards are overwhelmingly strong in Reform's favour. So Burnham will need to pull out all the stops just to win the seat. By no means a certainty. And in the wake of the pending by-election, the mayorship of Manchester could fall in the same direction — Reform UK. So we could potentially see Reform pick up a new MP and take over Greater Manchester in one fell swoop. Can you imagine the fall-out from that? The world's largest self-inflicted banana skin trip. We wait.

@Lipsy198 @fesshole There are some minor events for which live info isn't available. Scottish Division 2, Kazakh Premier League etc. But you can't bet on those in-play as bookies close their book as soon as - or even before - they start. OP is bullshitting.

I have genuinely learnt how to cheat at gambling. I do something called Courtsiding/pitchsiding I target events where bookies don't have live info so there's a delay long enough for me to place a bet on something that's happened before the online books update. Changed my life

@fesshole If bookies don't have live in-play information they don't offer a market on it. Even when they do, there is an inbuilt delay on bet acceptance, which can be anything from seven to fifteen seconds - not counting transmission time.

@historyinmemes The original German-made Fanta was withdrawn in 1949. There was also a Dutch Fanta, with a different recipe. The name was revived in 1955 by an Italian company, which was in turn bought out by Coca Cola in 1960.

Fanta was invented in Germany during World War II after Coca-Cola could no longer import its signature syrup because of wartime trade restrictions. To keep production going, the company’s German branch created a new soft drink made entirely from ingredients available locally.

@FellBound It would be remarkable if Ramsay MacDonald had anything to do with the Munich Agreement, given that he died in November 1937 and had been succeeded as PM by Baldwin in 1935.
