Almost none of our wind turbines are made in China. They’re produced in Denmark, Germany and Spain.
These wind turbines produce over 40% of our grid energy annually (rising)
China manufacturers 30% of everything on the globe, but their emissions are falling mainly because renewables has reduced their reliance on fossil fuels.

It’s actually worse than that. 20-25% of our gas is liquefied natural gas, shipped from Qatar and USA.
The process is hugely inefficient and can be leaky. There’s not enough economically efficient gas left in N Sea for us to be self sufficient but each unit we use from there is cleaner than a unit of LNG that it displaces.
Same for wind - might not meet all our needs but each turn of a wind turbine blade reduces our need for gas overall.

Somebody cut the ceramic tiles to create this 'plug' symbol at the substation, but what kind of plug does such a symbol actually represent?

Architectural heritage is irreplaceable - whether from the 20th century or any other period. Attitudes towards the care, protection and maintenance of our historic buildings must change.

Wars are only ever resolved through negotiation. It’s tragic that calm heads did not prevail in the US when the Omani Foreign Minister said, just hours before the bombing started, that a peace deal was within reach. And now hotheads in Iran think it’s a good idea to bomb Oman.

This is likely just the RAF supporting Jordan with F-35 CAP against drones and such. Jordan are a close ally and this provides forward protection for Akrotiri.

Really concerned to hear the Defence Secretary refuse to rule out UK's involvement in future strikes on Iran. Iraq lessons must be learned. Further escalation in the Middle East makes us all less safe. Starmer must rule out UK involvement immediately.

This hurts me emotionally, we are taking out relatively cheap drones with our high end air-air missiles that we have modest stocks of.
Same thing we talked about for years in Ukraine. RAF has failed to get a cheap anti-air/drone missile in to service.
