@Engineers2Rule

Dad, business owner, investor, engineer. I debate ideas to achieve a higher level of understanding. If I am wrong, roast me.

If I sold my Tesla this week, I'd get about $15k more than if I sold it last month. $15k buys a lot of petrol...or a nice electric mountain bike.

19th-century women were unhappy in their marriages. 20th-century women were unhappy in their marriages. 21st-century women are still unhappy in their marriages. They even legalized same-sex marriage, and yet women are still unhappy in lesbian marriages At this point, it stops being about men. It starts to look like women are simply unhappy and miserable beings no matter what they’re given. No matter how much they receive, they always seem to want more and more. It’s like trying to fill an empty void. You guys have a problem and its a you problem.
ً@wynrosei

This was a depressingly common theme in 19th-century art.

@EVCircles Also...yes, Australia has the largest battery electric ship. And, most of our freight trains are electric...

People post this stuff as some sort of “gotcha” but it’s not. The point is we should electrify what we can to get away from oil dependency ASAP. Some stuff still needs liquid fuels for now and that’s fine. Its time will come. Most cars can transition right now.

@EVCircles Anyone know B-double, freight train or cargo ship operating in this country that could easily delivery food and other essentials to the populations without using oil?

Perhaps the great paradigm war is not left vs. right, Democrat vs. Republican, pro-data center or anti-data center, but rather Engineers vs. Lawyers Empirically solving problems vs. an argued perspective on the problem.

Would you support the government, the opposition, minor parties, independents, business, economists etc all sitting down with a blank piece of paper and writing an entirely new tax code? Efficient, easy, less churn?

@PeteWargent Builders are reluctant to enter fixed price contracts. Mum & Dad future home owners can't get finance unless it is a fixed price contract. Housing completion rates are about to drop. Speckies and mass developers might keep going but the custom home market has already stalled.

@ausstockchick He is like a 3yo trying to help you unload the dishwasher. Every time he touches something, it breaks. "I'm helping, I'm helping!" He would be more help to this country if he just went on a 3 year holiday and let us fix this ourselves.

Step 4) How do we make houses more affordable without destroying the current assets? Easy, make new cheap houses in the outer suburbs more desirable by building better transport infrastructure to those suburbs (reduce travel times, etc) Gov builds trunk infrastructure.

Aus fix - step 1) stop making the problem worse. E.g. stop importing welfare recipients. Replace with golden visas, they need $ in the bank and must buy a newly built home NOT near a metropolitan area. (Probably get an influx of boomer Brits)

Step 3) Don't move the goal posts on Super, instead, encourage transferring wealth, businesses, assets to a more energetic and younger generation to produce more goods and services in Aus. (How? See step 2)

Step 2) That income tax free threshold, increase it dramatically for people under 30yo and tier it to 45 yo. (Paid for by step 1) The young (child bearing age) are trying to compete with those who have accumulated wealth over decades. This levels the playing field.

@elliev25x Why aren't we importing wealthy boomers who want to retire here and spend their $ in Aus? Why are we importing welfare recipients?

@elliev25x There is a heap of low hanging fruit! The lowest hanging fruit would be to stop importing welfare recipients that are also military aged males intent on killing their hosts. It solves energy, food, housing, culture and security in 1 go.

@elliev25x Is the fuel debacle over 6 ships failing to port out of 80 in 2 months? 7.5%? Aus population has increased by 6.7% since Albo started importing without increasing energy infrastructure. It is hard to pay for infrastructure when the imports are also on welfare.

@Engineers2Rule Sending back welfare recipients is an easy win. How does it help grow food and ensure energy security?

@ronInBendigo Free market balancing would assume that taxing the shit out of everything is an incentive to move offshore. Either way, the greed remains. But less tax in Australia equals more jobs in Australia.

@Engineers2Rule It's a nice idea, but do you think it would stop corporate greed?
