I’ve been considering closing this account because of how bad the feed has become, but I won’t for now. Instead I’ll be refocusing on the mission of EVs and the EV market. That does mean that if your posts are politics-heavy, I’ll be unfollowing. Sorry but I’m here for EVs only.

@EVCircles @smh I saw recently someone post about a process whereby you can turn coal into diesel, perhaps that could be an option for you mate if you are not worried about the cost at all

This obviously can’t go on. In 6-8 weeks’ time I am going to have to buy my second tank of fuel for the year for my weekend V8 and it’s going to be expensive. (Chart via @smh)

Well that is just annoying. (For some reason Australian rules require a top tether point for child seats despite ISOFIX being allowed - that is, you must have both).

@eaglesbirdies @smh Yeah. Which is going to be a problem as how will the rest of the neighbourhood enjoy the sounds of a V8 going by if they’re no fuel?

@EVCircles You can't compete with China on price. Which manufacturers will survive the influx of Chinese vehicles? The ones that aren't competing with cheap.

Here’s the thing that the Europeans need to lean into in order to survive. Heritage. This is the 8th generation 3 series and it means something. You know it. BMW means something, immediately, instantly. The Xiaomi SU7 may be a great car but it can’t give you that. Not yet.

Friendly reminder to Tesla enthusiasts: posting things like “But does it drive itself?” on stories about other new cars just makes you look ridiculous. It does nothing to pump the share price or increase Tesla sales.

Driving EVs is about to be the “cool” and “smart” thing to do. I’m not sure who would have ever guessed that? 🤷

@EVCircles @carsales also noticed there were a ton of 2022-23 MG ZS EVs in NSW for under $25k with low kms in Feb… now there’s about 5 in the state across all model years and trims. insane

A couple of weeks ago there were a few electric Minis under $30k on @carsales and now this is the cheapest one. Just a data point on how EV demand has increased lately.

@EVCircles Yes, and yes. That is why its confusing they shit out these awful designs. I know what this isnt -an iconic sedan fun, safe, reliable with style and class. 2001/02 they peaked. They we got "flame surfacing" from bangle and here we are today. Every design is ass.

@taipan168 1 in 13 is much higher than I’d have guessed. On the other hand there’s several caravans in my street so it probably works out.

The figure is actually about 1 in 13, so a pretty good proportion of the other 12 in 13 could manage perfectly well with an EV. Why do people always come up with niche use cases to support their case?

@matsburaas TBH I think in many places American public transport is so bad that the idea of it being a good way to get around just does not register.

@EVCircles Why would I own a taxi, we have taxies fkr thst, or trains, or trans and underground many places. Is that the reason why Americans don’t get it, becajse thet juat have cars?
