It is a heartwarming story, but it also highlights a massive systemic failure. In a modern economy, an elderly woman should not be forced to carry her entire rent in cash or face eviction because she lacks access to basic banking. While the individual honesty here is commendable, the fact that a single lost wallet could have resulted in homelessness is a grim indictment of how we treat our most vulnerable seniors. Individual charity shouldn't have to replace a safety net. #SocialSafetyNet #BankingAccess

I found a wallet in a shopping cart at Walmart. It had $400 cash in it. No credit cards. Just a driver's license. The address was twenty minutes away. I drove over. It was a run-down trailer park. I knocked. An elderly woman answered. "Did you lose this?" I asked. She gasped. She grabbed it and checked the cash. Then she hugged me. "This is my rent," she cried. "I took it out in cash because I don't have a bank account. I thought I was going to be evicted." She tried to give me $20. "No ma'am," I said. "But do me a favor? Make me a cup of coffee. It's a long drive back." We sat at her tiny kitchen table. She told me about her grandkids. Honesty isn't just about doing the right thing. It's about protecting someone else's peace of mind.

@Rmariedbs @bradpettit @Mr_Husky1 EBT cards also carry other benefits such as state cash benefits, in addition to food stamps. You use the ebt card at an atm, or use cash back feature at the store. Nothing nefarious to consider.

Hey everyone, I wanted to address Dana White’s comments from this past weekend, because the truth matters to me and the fans. Dana, you were heated about why I’m not on the White House card, but let’s clear something up. My team and I were actually negotiating with the UFC for that fight. Real negotiations. I even came down from my original number, and what was I offered in return ? I was lowballed . Yes, I have arthritis in my hip and it’s painful, but that doesn’t mean I can’t fight. So let me get this straight, if I had accepted the lowball offer, suddenly my hip would be fine and I’d be on the White House card? That doesn’t make sense. I even received stem cell treatment last week to get ready for the White House card, and training camp was scheduled to start today. I was preparing to be ready. I understand business deals fall through sometimes, but going out publicly and saying things that aren’t true isn’t right. After everything I’ve given to the UFC , the years, the title defenses, the fights , hearing that I’m “done” is disappointing. Especially when as recently as Friday UFC was calling me trying to get me on that White House card for a much lower number. If the UFC truly feels like I’m done, then I respectfully ask to be released from my contract today. No more spins, no more games. Thank you to the real fans who know what’s up. Bones out.

Sounds like a tactic to intentionally piss people off to put pressure on Congress to approve funding. I can’t imagine shutting down streamlined security measures actually saves money…if anything it seems like it would be the opposite.

Two teenagers from Pennsylvania just solved a problem most engineers ignored. Rohan Kapoor and Jack Reichert created the "Go Green Filter" — a 3D-printed device that attaches to your car's exhaust pipe. It doesn't just reduce emissions. It converts CO2 into oxygen. Using microalgae. The same process plants use — photosynthesis. They built a bio-reactor with water, LED lights, and living algae inside. The algae eat the carbon dioxide from your exhaust... and release clean oxygen back into the air. In testing? It cut emissions by 74%. They didn't wait for funding. Didn't wait for permission.
They 3D-printed the prototype themselves. Now it's being deployed in Indonesia. The cost? Low enough to scale globally. If this works at mass scale, it could reduce billions of tons of carbon annually. Two high school kids just did what billion-dollar companies haven't.

This man's son had a serious addiction to his tablet. Any time the father tried to take it away, the son would cry, scream, throw a fit, and search for it until he found it again. At his wits' end on what to do, the father decided to draw circles around his child's eyes while he was sleeping. When the child woke up, the father claimed the dark circles were caused by the child's time on his tablet and that if he continued, he would go blind.
This sparks a serious debate. Did this father go too far to save his son, or could he have just gotten rid of the tablet? Where do you draw the line in parenting?
If it's me, I'm just going to get rid of the tablet altogether.
