First I had to remove the persistent key legends from the display, the Tandy doesn’t have these. The syntax for that is SCREEN ,0. Further, the Tandy uses PRINT@x to print text at a specific location on the screen, the NEC uses LOCATE x,y… I’ll have to dig a bit more 🕵🏻‍♂️

I found a version of Star Trek for the Tandy model 100 that someone converted way back in 1983, of course it didn’t work on the NEC PC-8201 unmodified, a few changes were needed to get it up and running. Despite sharing a common ancestry, the NEC basic is a bit different.
