It's pretty fucked up how Phantasy Star IV tends to get left out of the conversation for best retro RPG. The things that game accomplished at the time in both story and gameplay were really impressive.

@MoreLimitless I've played every FF game other than 11 and 16. It took me 4 years to get through the slog that is the 14 base game. That's the shame

It’s a shame that a lot of Final Fantasy fans will turn away one of the best FF experiences you will have for the sole reason of it being an MMO. Throw away any misconceptions you have and just try it. The journey is unforgettable.

Fun fact: the only reason the switch 2 runs better than the Switch 1 is because it no longer inexplicably runs 10 copies of the home menu at all times including while actively playing other games

@geofftrainwreck okay so literally just use the speedup function. i've played the original on PS1 and the remaster, it's fine either way. i don't get the point of trying to make an issue out of something that's been solved

ff9 would be wayyyy better overall if they didn't slow combat/atb and animations down to a crawl i enjoy the stories, characters (yay kuja) and world-building, but it's the worst parts of turn based combat for me (ff6/7/8 were totally fine)
