@wzahir @oelma__ There is no actual “science” that emphatically links CC to carbon emissions. In fact historically the opposite is true. At best there is a possible correlatory relationship spanning maybe 50 yrs. Correlation should not be confused with causation. That is why the prophesies fail.

@dkimball914 @karlmehta Europe is NOT paying 15%. American consumers are. Trump has placed a 15% tax on imports that Americans will have to pay. It’s a tax hike, dressed as a trade dispute, pretending to be patriotism.

Why is Europe paying 15% on their exports while the US pays nothing? It it meant to attempt to offset the European VAT, or value added tax. The US has no such tax, but EU countries do, between 15% and 30% of the supposed "cost" of goods produced in Europe. It is formulaic and difficult to assess, which makes it a terrible tax, but it exists. Hence the US gets to assess a 15% tax on the sales value of European imports into the US, to approximate and offset the local VAT. So the tariff is not quite so lopsided or unfair as some are saying. It is actually a pretty neutral deal and best of all, easy to assess and calculate.

Need to point this out. As a murderer stabbed a Muslim woman named Dr. Talat Khan to death, witnesses report that 17 Texans pulled out their firearms. 17! The murderer stabbed her, stopped to check her pulse, confirmed she was alive, & went back to stabbing her to death. And 17 "good guys with guns" did nothing. Her horrific murder happened in broad daylight. A reminder once more that the "good guy with a gun" myth is a propaganda point to sell more guns. It does nothing beyond an anecdote to save lives. Climate change is real. So is climate denial. So is bought climate lobbying. It is possible to have an industrial policy that creates jobs and solves climate change. But it means some vested interests are going to have to pívot.
