An innocent American college girl—out with friends on a public beach, hoping to see the Northern Lights—is gunned down in cold blood by an illegal alien hiding in the dark, and the alderperson’s first instinct is to worry about how scared the shooter must have been. Hadden, who has repeatedly voted to shield Chicago’s sanctuary policies that deliberately tie the hands of ICE and local police, has uttered not one word about reforming the very laws and lax enforcement that let suspected killer Jose Medina—a Venezuelan national here illegally—roam free long enough to allegedly put a bullet in a teenager’s head. Critics were quick to note the grotesque hypocrisy: Hadden’s office had spent years bragging about the ward’s vibrant “diversity” and how wonderfully “welcoming” it is to migrants—right up until one of those migrants allegedly murdered a young girl in her own district. At press time, sources say Alderperson Hadden is hard at work drafting emergency legislation that would require every Chicago resident to wear loud bells around their necks, wave bright flags, and loudly announce “Friendly American approaching—please don’t shoot!” before getting within 50 feet of any illegal alien, just to avoid any future “startling” incidents that might inconvenience the newcomers.
