@DeepHumor There's no age verification at all here. This is just ID verification for account security. Calling it “ID age verification” feels like fear-mongering to attach it to a polarized topic to generate engagement. x.com/rickcsong/stat…

Apple Forces UK iPhone Age Checks in iOS 26.4 reclaimthenet.org/apple-forces-u…

Say hello to Michigan House Bill 4429 and Senate Bill 284. This is Michigan’s “Digital Age Assurances Act”. And it would require ALL Operating Systems (including Linux & Windows) to implement “commercially reasonable” age verification of every user on every system. This Operating System Age Verification bill stalled out last year, but has been taken back up and re-sent to a Michigan House committee last week. It’s worth noting that this bill was introduced in the House of Representatives by a group of Democrats, but was introduced in the Senate by a group of Republicans. Which suggests that, should the bill make it out of committee and go for a vote, it would likely pass with support from both parties. legislature.mi.gov/Bills/Bill?Obj…

facebook.com/share/r/1DMFJn… Melissa McKay explains the power of the App Store Accountability Act. Did you know that every time an app is downloaded, a legal contract is created? Right now, kids are often the ones clicking “agree.” That means minors are unknowingly entering contracts that include data-sharing terms and even indemnification clauses with app developers—sometimes foreign companies—with Apple acting as the middleman. How is that even legal? The App Store Accountability Act fixes this by requiring child accounts to be linked to a parent account, so parents—not kids—are the ones giving consent and signing contracts. It’s common sense. 📣 Urge Congress to pass the App Store Accountability Act and put parents back in charge. #AppStoreAccountabilityAct #ParentalRights #OnlineSafety #ProtectKidsOnline #utahparentsunited @MikeLeeforUtah @ChildFirstPC @Melissa_M818

Oh you thought I was joking? I was being hyperbolic? The day after this thread the Heritage Foundation dropped this. Support for sunsetting Section 230. They are trying to kill the ENTIRE INTERNET by gutting 230. "Protecting kids" my ass.
