Never a dull moment under the Gold Dome! Today @GovKemp took the final step in delivering real relief to Georgians by signing two bills into law: one to suspend the gas tax for 60 days and one to return nearly $1.2 billion to taxpayers! Drivers will immediately start saving $.33 a gallon for gas and $.37 a gallon for diesel.

Today I was proud to vote to suspend the state motor fuel tax for 60 days, and deliver real relief when Georgians need it the most!

Pleased to report that my bill, HB 1132, passed the House yesterday! With HB 1132, we’re helping every Georgia family get one step closer to home ownership!

Today, Georgia Democrats proved that when it comes to affordability, they’re all talk and no action. They could have helped us give Georgians the option to vote this fall on doing away with the homestead property tax through a constitutional amendment. Instead, they voted no on HR1114. Instead, they chose higher taxes. The people of Georgia want property tax relief. Many of us are trying to deliver that. Some are not. Today, it became a lot clearer who’s on which side!

Earlier today, @GovKemp signed the Amended Fiscal Year 2026 budget! This budget makes significant investments in our state, returns money back to the taxpayers, and sets us up for success in an ever-changing global economy. I’m proud to have worked on it!

Proud to announce my bill, HB 158, passed the House today. This is a huge win for efficiency and transparency by modernizing Georgia’s trade name registration system. When this becomes law, anyone can look up businesses without having to navigate a patchwork of county-by-county records.

Today I officially qualified to run for re-election to the Georgia House of Representatives! Truly humbled by this opportunity and the responsibility that comes with representing House District 160. The decisions we make in Atlanta have real consequences for families at home, and I’m committed to upholding our conservative values while delivering real results that keep our community strong. Thank you for the faith you’ve placed in me so far, and I look forward to pursuing another term as your representative!

I was proud to honor the life and legacy of Coach Fred Shaver on the House floor yesterday. His life of service on the field, in the classroom, and around our community is an inspiration to us all!

It was great spending time today with Braves legend Dale Murphy! The Georgia House was proud to pass a resolution making today Dale Murphy Day - honoring not just his incredible career but also the character and leadership he’s continued to demonstrate well beyond his playing days. Here’s hoping he soon gets what so many fans know he deserves - a place in the Hall of Fame!

Today was Georgia Charter Schools Association Day at the Capitol, and I was proud to welcome students from Statesboro STEAM Academy! With nearly 100 charter school throughout Georgia, these institutions play an important role in preparing our youth for life in and outside of the classroom. Today I got to see that firsthand. Huge thanks to Benji Lewis for all he does at STEAM and for bringing these students to Atlanta!

Yesterday we passed a number of bills focused on strengthening education in our state. From supporting teachers and students, to expanding opportunities and increasing accountability, we’re putting education front and center - and are committed to getting it right!

Great to welcome students from Southeast Bulloch High School and Middle School for FFA Day at the Capitol this morning. I’m more confident than ever that Georgia’s agricultural legacy is in good hands with this next generation!

February 18, 2026 was officially Statesboro-Bulloch County Day! It was an honor to recognize our community and everything that makes it a great place to live, work, and raise a family. Thank you to everyone who made the trip to Atlanta to showcase all our area has to offer! We’re proud of where we come from - and excited about where we’re headed!
