35 years ago I was playing Taito's Air Inferno, a very unusual 3D aerial firefighting coin-op in which you flew a helicopter on rescue missions, extinguishing conflagrations while rescuing civilians. I rarely saw one outside of the showroom I played it at, but man was it cool.

@bitmap_books Would have just allowed the angry mob to not buy the book because they wouldn't buy it anyway. Now it's been highlighted the auther gets nothing, you're highlighting the problem further and increasing the number who won't buy.

@JazRignall I loved this cover, probably more because it wasn't his usual style. I wasn't always a fan of the faces he drew when doing the more realistic style. The sci-fi covers were also superb.

40 years ago, this ugly bunch made for a very colorful and distinctive CRASH cover. Everyone's a Wally was a fine example of eccentric mid-80s UK game development. Basically, very weird and very British. I like this cover a lot. Not Oli Frey's usual style, but cool nevertheless.

@JazRignall Astyklax mash up! I enjoyed it just enough to play it a good few times. It really chucks the enemies at you though.

35 years ago, I reviewed the decent hack 'n slash coin-op Astyanax. It was fun, but as I noted, there were quite a few Rastan-type games around, and this didn't have much in the way of new features. Also, the art department mistakenly added a Klax screenshot to the page. Doh!

Star Wars Rogue One: The Darth Vader sequence at the end of Rogue One was the icing on the cake. It showed why Darth Vader's power and why he was so feared. What rating out of 10 would you give this scene? (I give it 10/10)

Been digging through my garage. Ignore the mint-in-box Rancor pit monster, and instead witness the sheer brilliance of a set of unopened Street Fighter II pogs. Official ones, no less. I am the official pog champ.

@MuseumCommodore I was always disappointed that they got the game looking so good, but completely messed up the gameplay with janky controls and character animation.

@16bitnostalgia Never be retro to me. Some great games of course, but for me this was the dawn of the modern gaming era and we're still in it that era, when differences started to vanish between consoles and mostly just higher fidelity gaming with each release. I do love the Wii though...

@MuseumCommodore I've seen it, but never played it because when released it was 2 pound a game, and thus too expensive for the amount of time you'd get in the cab. Usually dead in about 30 odd seconds or so. Took my 2 pound and played 10 other games instead...

I played After Burner on my Commodore 64, but I never had the privilege of experiencing it in this arcade beast. Did you?

@MuseumCommodore Classics for sure - grab them all in the 'Forgotten Realms' collections on Steam. Currently playing Eye of the Beholder. (they aren't the C64 versions though).

AD&D Commodore 64 games: Pool of Radiance, Hills Far or Curse of the Azure Bonds, did you play them all? Pool of Radiance was my favourite.
