@barneyxbt Don't worry, he's still thinking about us. He's withdrawing from NATO on our behalf.

@ThePaleBison @SohrabAhmari What do you mean by "climate cards?" Brother, that the world is warming is not disputed. It doesn't matter if you consider it anthropogenic or not; it is appropriate for the Pope, and for all of us, to pray for our planet. It is our home and our responsibility.

@GVCatullus @SohrabAhmari Mocking the climate cards is not refusing to acknowledge God's presence and glory in the beauty of the earth. Swing and a miss.

@interexparte @tragicbirdapp The issue is we're dealing with overlapping, independent regulations. Vampires practicing within the US are subject to the US constitution. But they are also subject to vampire law, and so need explicit inhabitant consent. Both conditions are necessary, neither sufficient.

@GVCatullus @tragicbirdapp Ultimately we need to examine the basis of the restrictions on vampires entering the premises, and if vague enough, persuade the specific vampire to our interpretation.

@interexparte @tragicbirdapp Oh sorry, I thought we were concerned exclusively w/ vampire protocols. IANAL, but I believe a warrant is simply the mechanism by which an LEO gains the right to bypass another's 4th amendment right to privacy; it makes the vampire's entry constitutional, but does not compel it.

@GVCatullus @tragicbirdapp That would then depend on the form of the warrant and local law. It seems most warrants take the form of a command to enter the premises at a stipulated time and to perform an action. Then the question is: does the command negate invitation requirements?

@interexparte @tragicbirdapp Depends on which specific rights were transferred upon the ghoul's ingress, i.e., the terms of entry.

@GVCatullus @tragicbirdapp What if his partner was his ghoul? Can the ghoul legally enter into the house and extend an invitation as someone who is rightfully there?

@ROMEMAXXING @eduardo_garcmol I believe that's his point. That the greedy expansion of empire erodes norms, depletes human decency, and ends with the empire overreached and without allies, mowed down as it tries to flee Sicily.

@brian1118 @holysmoke I beg you to consider without bias the history of the region & reflect on grace. These deaths are the direct result of the worst of humanity's nature. Israel must be dismantled & the US empire must be reined in; we're a machine that turns dead children into Halliburton EBITDA.

@GVCatullus @holysmoke Youre getting very carried away with abstract nonsense. These are murderous and demonic forces. Youre trying to excuse them and their attempts to acquire nukes which they would use. Beirut was the request of the Lebanese so your last paragraph is just absurd.

Someone who emerges with great credit from the Iran crisis is Pope Leo, who waited to issued a specific condemnation of US policy until President Trump made a threat that was clearly incompatible with a just war. He did so based on the prospect of apocalyptic disaster rather than as part of a papal political crusade against the US administration – a fantasy propagated by ultra-partisan liberal Catholics. Leo doesn’t approve of Trump, we can assume, but unlike his predecessor he’s responsible and even-handed in the exercise of his authority on the international stage.

@brian1118 @holysmoke My brother Israel is the demonic force of the region. Israel has nuclear weapons. Israel is rabidly murdering and ethnically cleansing Christians, Jews, and Muslims right now. Iran had a FATWA against the development of nuclear weapons. Now they'd be justified to race for them.

@brian1118 @holysmoke I just don't understand how you can ignore context so brashly. These conflicts are the legacy of colonialism, resource extraction, and, in many cases, the brutal ethnofascist expansion of zionism. Beirut is no exception. I'm no fan of the mullahs. Who put them in power? We did.

@GVCatullus @holysmoke More stupidity. The Marines in Beirut killed by suicide bombers were in an unjust situation? They were there to assist the Lebanese government you moron. The Americans killed in Israel 2 years ago slaughtered by Hamas were civilians. Your rationalizations are pathetic.

I have a PhD in political science from Oxford, focused on US foreign policy; worked as a State Dept. official in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and the Middle East; and wrote a celebrated foreign policy book taught at universities like Princeton. That's why I get geopolitical questions.
Samson Bigglesworth@bigglesw1

@BulwarkOnline @Timodc Question: When did Ronan Farrow become a foreign policy expert??? Answer: He didn’t. Don’t waste your time watching other men mentally masturbate. The Bulwark is nothing more than a different version of chatroullette.

@brian1118 @holysmoke I would encourage you to read, or reread, Thucydides' History of the Peloponnesian War. Consider the plague of Athens; analogize it to the Mytilenean affair, Melian dialogue, and invasion of Sicily. Consider what greed and lust for power do to men's souls and to empire.

@GVCatullus @holysmoke Nobody targeted civilians. That is a lie and renders your entire post BS. Calling it unnecessary doesn't make it unnecessary. He is ending an IslamoFascist regime that has murdered Amercans and 40k of their own last 4 weeks. You have no idea what you are talking about.

@Kbyrne1980 @crawlings13 Of course it will survive. But what i'm saying in case that flew over your head, is that appeals to a bygone system are not effective in a world where warfare will cause the deaths of countless innocents.
