@nypost We’re waiting for the government to notice that there needs to be a way to identify impairment. We’ve got the solution!

St. Patrick's Day is among the most dangerous holidays for impaired driving. Please be safe out there! If you'll be using substances, make a plan for a safe ride. Happy St. Patties!

Impairment detection technology is going to be deployed be every safety sensitive workplace, and law enforcement. It's inevitable. This study is why: no next day driving performance detriment from THC edibles users. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/41776711/

This article by @LABlogger is made all the more interesting when you note that the tech to do this doesn't actually exist. We have the largest database of impaired eyeballs in the world, and the sensors in vehicles cannot detect impairment at this point. gadgetreview.com/federal-survei…

It's about time that the @StarTribune published something accurate about THC impairment detection. Even if it is an opinion piece. archive.ph/EdNJE

@PLegalization This is why we built impairment testing. No one should have the right to analyze your body fluids to see what you consumed last week. All that matters is whether you’re safe to drive or work.

Imagine driving to work, completely sober, and you get a DUI because you used legal marijuana to 2 days ago. That’s happening thanks to THC per se limits and oral fluid testing devices. In some states, cannabis users are always driving illegally: gaize.ai/blog/in-some-s…

@PatientsCannUK Newsflash: there’s no evidence that these tests are particularly sensitive to cannabis impairment.

@AlexBerenson Having THC in their blood has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not they were impaired at the time of the accident. This is a false equivalency, but I’m sure you already knew that.

@vomittracer @northwestballin @StefanMolyneux Your view is totally irrelevant. Scientists have conclusively proven that there is no reliable way to measure impairment using THC markers in the blood. This is why the entire category of impairment detection technology exists.

@PhilippHei61475 @StefanMolyneux Yes, there is a test that proves if you’re high or not. We’ve had one on the market for years now. It measures how the body is responding to the drug, not the drug itself. Gaize.ai

@StefanMolyneux Me too but having THC in your blood doesn't prove impairment. Any cop knows THC shows up for a month or more after usage. There's not a breathalyzer test for it or any test that definitively proves you're high or not. It'd be really hard to win in court without that.

@ArtRebel5 @AlexBerenson @nedryun That’s absolutely correct. There is no amount of THC in the body that correlates to impairment, no matter the level. This is why impairment detection technology exists.

@chrontcn1 @RAZ0RFIST That’s absolutely incorrect. THC levels in blood do not correlate to impairment and science has proven that for decades. That’s why there’s no per se limit that has been established that has any scientific validity. It’s also why impairment detection technology exists.

@RAZ0RFIST Blood tests are unique because they measure active THC rather than its inactive metabolites (which are measured in urine), making them useful for determining recent impairment or consumption within the last few hours. 2/2

@drcaplan Bingo. There is no quantitative framework for level of THC in blood sample and corresponding level of impairment like there is for alcohol.

No one wants crashes. No one defends impaired driving. Preventable deaths are not abstract. But imagine debating cannabis without knowing that every human already carries cannabinoids in their bloodstream. Anandamide is not a drug. It is physiology. The endocannabinoid system modulates mood, stress, appetite, and pain in all of us. Baseline biology, not fringe chemistry. So when headlines compress complex neurobiology into a single detected compound, something essential is lost. Presence is chemistry. Impairment is behavior. Those are not the same thing.

@Zachariahskylab @RAZ0RFIST @Breaking_Battle Currently there is no test for impairment, it is all presence based. Cannabis is challenging because THC can definitely impair people but you can also have presence without impairment. We need a BAC version for this but don’t have one yet.
