@GamesSoaring @rob_robby @UnrealEngine I don't believe that is the case. With low overlap, Unreal can handle the same. Just to clarify: I am not making an "Unreal is better than Unity" argument, they're both great. Just that they are both capable of that specific example.

@edoublea @rob_robby @UnrealEngine Its neat and all, but unreal has always gone quality over quality. Even 100 lights is a limitation and they need to do much better. They need cheap point lights in addition to high quality large lights. Here is 10,000 lights on physics objects in unity: x.com/GamesSoaring/s…

@FreyaHolmer What would the advantages be over other modelling software, like blender? I understand it would be very useful to have a modelling tool directly in a game engine, but that kinda gets lost when it becomes a standalone app

guess what!! my modeling tool is now, standalone, kinda!! it has NO features WHATSOEVER bc I stripped all the unity editor related stuff which was the entire interface to editing meshes, BUT the code is compiling!!

what's a nice way to remove elements and shift all by-index references to it, among arrays of thousands of elements? rn I'm thinking either: A. shift immediately (simple, but multiple iterations) B. defer shifts, track offset thresholds (complex, but only one iteration)

@forte_bass Depends on your motive and relationship. One idea I like is you can have a heavier split (75/25 until recoup) but a monthly min for the dev of X $ first so they can hit their base operation costs. For some devs this may be tiny, but for some too much to be fair to the pub.

OH. This is a fun question. If I try to be fair to BOTH dev and full service pub, also try to stay close to our current models: 65/35 Pub until recoup, then flip. Also a time cap ~7 years from launch. I wanna hear more answers, please tweet your ideas.

@FreyaHolmer All good reasons :) Also float3(0.6f) can fail to compile on some console platforms, but you wont know until you build for that platform. I have a similar trust issue and readability with if() vs if(){} 😅
