@Nithya_Shrii Resigned in 2018 for the exact same reason. No back up plan. Spent two years jobless, most difficult time of my life. Looking back now, it was the best decision I ever made. My mental health was in the gutters back then. That work environment was TOXIC!

Is it okay to resign because of a toxic work environment even if you don’t have a backup yet?!

@Nithya_Shrii Yes, I did that but u should be confident that u will be able to start fresh, even if you don't have any immediate back up plan. There will be days when u might regret this decision purely bcoz of financial issues only but in the long run it's totally worth it.

Met someone today and realized you just can’t disregard a person just because they didn’t have a successful career. So many sharp, knowledgeable people nowhere close to their potential. Not because of lack of ability. But because life wasn’t kind to them.

Most of the health influencer industry, sans any medical degree, has reached a stage where they have run out of things to say or repeat. So now they follow two principles - 1. Find any traditional Indian item, method, recipe and criticise it. - आप जो आटे को गूँथ कर रोटी बना कर खा रहे हैं ..उससे कैंसर हो सकता है। आटे को सुखा खायें और गरम तवे पर मुँह रख लें। 2. Desperately search for items that no other influencer has spoken about and turn it into nectar for eternal life.

@neeleshmisra Exactly n that's why I listen to the older channels like FM gold 106.4. at least they play good songs and the content is also fairly decent to listen to.. like the good old days.. no constant racking of nonsense.

You are killing #radio and then keep lamenting that radio is dead. I am listening to radio in Lucknow on my drive to my village home. For the last 30 minutes, I have been hearing only ads. I am not exaggerating. Before there was one bad song. You don’t work hard to create good content for radio, play only ads all day, and then say radio is dying????

@DrNehalVaidya @TheERDoctor People who are applauding her have no idea how wrong this is in all aspects. The way she is pushing air, lungs ka toh ho jayega and top of it 7 mins.. brain also 🫣🙄. It will be a miracle if the baby comes out developmentally normal after all this idiocy.

Absolutely shocking! How a qualified Pediatrician can do this? That to in a newborn care setup?Where is her bag and mask? Who is head of the department?Who is the superintendent? She has exposed the baby not only to uncontrolled high pressure but her pathogenic bacteria too.
The Nalanda Index@Nalanda_index

Dr. Sulekha Chaudhary, Pediatrician at CHC Agra, saved a newborn’s life today. 👏🏼❤️ The baby was born without any movement. Oxygen support was given first, but when that didn’t help, Dr. Chaudhary performed mouth-to-mouth resuscitation for nearly 7 minutes and the baby started breathing! A true hero in action. 🫶

@theliverdoc The CHC has AC, warmer but not a basic equipment like Bag n Mask n they r conducting deliveries 🤔 so wrong on all terms.. n she did this for 7 mins, no oxygen.. lucky the baby survived but what about the neurological damage.. which obviously would be seen once the baby grows..

Can I say something? Ok, I'm going to say it anyway. My heart dropped watching this. While the intent is commendable and the outcome fortunate, the technique is not correct, also terrifyingly dangerous, by current newborn resuscitation standards. And for a Pediatrician to do this, its downright negligence. The cornerstone of newborn resuscitation for an apneic (not breathing) baby is positive pressure ventilation (PPV) using a bag-and-mask device (self-inflating bag or T-piece resuscitator), not mouth-to-mouth. The standard sequence is: warm → dry → stimulate → clear airway → if still apneic/gasping, begin bag-and-mask ventilation within the "Golden Minute." Giving mouth-to-mouth is problematic (read: can kill) in newborns. The doctors cannot control the pressure or tidal volume delivered. Newborn lungs are extremely fragile, and uncontrolled breaths (as this doctor is giving) can rupture and burst their little lungs. Additionally, there is infection risk in both directions (doctor → newborn and newborn → doctor). It's not a monitored or standardized intervention. A CHC (Community Health Center) conducting deliveries is required to have a functional newborn resuscitation corner with a bag-and-mask device. That's a basic NSSK (Navjaat Shishu Suraksha Karyakram) mandate. If the doctor had to resort to mouth-to-mouth, it raises serious questions about equipment availability and facility preparedness - which is the real issue worth highlighting rather than celebrating this as heroism. The baby surviving is wonderful, but framing a suboptimal, potentially dangerous technique as "clap worthy" sets a problematic precedent. If you are a pediatrician and a healthcare worker in charge of newborns, please never, ever, do this to the child.

Dear Indian parents, please teach some basic civic sense to your kids instead of hiding under the guise of, “He’s just 6 years old.” Story time: On my flight from Phu Quoc to Da Nang, two kids were seated behind me. They were super noisy and constantly kicking my seat. I politely asked them to stop three times. The fourth time, I had to get up, turn around, and call out their parents. Instead of being remorseful, they started defending their kids. Mom: “They are on their third flight.” “They are just 6 years old.” I replied, “How is that my problem? You need to teach them how to behave in shared public spaces or atleast take care when you can clearly see what they are doing.” Dad: “If you have any issues, please talk to the cabin crew. Take business class next time.” Mom: “When you have kids, you will understand.” Actions like these are part of why Indians often face racism abroad. It’s not all Indians but it only takes a few to damage our reputation and become a global embarrassment.

Took the dog to the vet yesterday Golden retriever She ate something in the backyard My wife said "she looks off" I said "she's a dog. She always looks like that." My wife made the appointment anyway Nice office Fish tank in the lobby Every professional I visit has a fish tank The vet came in Looked at the dog for maybe 30 seconds Pressed on her stomach The dog wagged her tail He said "we should run some tests" I said "what kind of tests" He said "bloodwork, X-ray, urinalysis, and an ultrasound" I said "she ate a stick" He said "we want to be thorough" I said "what's the cost" He said "roughly $3,400" For a stick My wife looked at me Not the ceiling this time Directly at me The look that means "if you negotiate the vet bill for our dog I will never speak to you again" I said "run the tests" Fastest approval I've ever given No diligence No second opinion No counter The dog looked at me Tail still wagging She has no idea what anything costs Must be nice They took her to the back We sat in the waiting room for two hours My wife was worried I was calculating the per-minute cost of this visit I didn't say that out loud Therapy taught me that much The vet came back Looked at his chart for 90 seconds He said "good news. Nothing serious. She probably just ate something that didn't agree with her." I said "so she's fine" He said "she's fine" I said "we waited two hours and spent $3,400 to confirm what you suspected when you pressed on her stomach for 30 seconds" He said "we wanted to rule things out" I said "what did you rule out" He said "quite a bit" I said "name one thing" He paused My wife said "we're paying the bill" I said "I know we're paying the bill" The vet recommended a "premium digestive supplement" $89 a month I said no My wife said yes The vet looked at me I looked at the dog The dog was asleep on the floor $3,400 and two hours later and she's the most relaxed one in the room We paid In the car my wife said "you were going to negotiate weren't you" I said "the thought crossed my mind" She said "it's our dog" I said "I know. That's why I didn't." She looked at me I looked at the road The dog was in the backseat Head out the window Not a single thought behind those eyes I've never been more jealous of another living thing $3,400 $89/month supplement One stick Non-negotiable Sent from my iPhone

Abandoning a pet is one of the worst forms of betrayal. You are the centre of that animal’s universe - its entire understanding of the world. When you walk away, you’re not just leaving an animal behind. You leave behind a shattered creature. Few things reveal character more starkly than how we treat those who depend on us completely.
