Heartbroken to hear of the passing of Ravens offensive line coach Joe D’Alessandris. Joe D was a wonderful man and a great coach. He was a friend whose conversations and wisdom I treasured and will miss. Enjoy the reunion with your wonderful wife my friend. Godspeed Joe D.

In last nights Ravens broadcast I commented on the use of a chain gang instead of technology on measurements. I did not intend to demean any individual. I apologize to the members of the chain gang for what I said. I recognize they are doing an important job as professionals.

Devastated to hear the news of Jacoby Jones passing. He was the rare person who lit up a room just by walking in it. At the Super Bowl ring celebration he lit up the dance floor (even tried to teach me how to dance better). He was pure joy in motion. God speed my friend.

@GerrySandusky I have the same exact feelings you do. What do you think of they replaced the alternate logo with the “B” from the Ravens head on the main logo?

New helmet thoughts cont: 4. Never been a fan of the alternate logo. Still not. 5. The logo and helmet are both dark so they lack contrast. Okay your turn. What do you think?

@truthbtoldbmore I have been advocating for years for a white helmet, purple talon striping up top and purple face mask. Much better option IMO.

Some early thoughts on the Ravens new alternate helmet: 1. The ideal uniform combination for this will be purple pants, white jersey. 2. It will work better with the all purple unis than the black helmet but that's a lot of purple. 3. I like gold facemask and talon striping.

When it comes to the NFL draft, the only thing I find more ridiculous than mock drafts are instant grades for how each team did in the draft. Until you see rookies in game action it is absolutely impossible to say how a team did in the draft.

Ravens introduce their first round pick Nate Wiggins today.

This is now an historic NFL draft. Six QBs taken in the first 12 picks—that's a first. No defensive players taken in the first 13 picks—that's a first.

You can't ask for better weather or better field conditions for today's Ravens game. The word pristine comes to mind.
