Yes, and that's a real issue with scanned assets and AI assets. Textures are unique per surface. Professional artists can optimize for storage/memory by reusing texels. Mirroring is the most common technique and you'd use the same texels for all four wheels of a car. Tiling textures, trim sheets and similar save memory on repeating large/long surfaces. AI can't do any of these optimizations. This is another reason why I treat AI assets like scanned assets. They lack hand authored art topology and UV reuse optimizations.

I treat raw AI generated assets like scanned data. Topology is horrible, UV charts are unusable (thousands of tiny islands), normal maps are a joke. But if you run it through a full remeshing pipeline, generate new UV charts, project the data on the new surface and generate new normal maps (high->low) and LODs (now possible since UV seams don't prevent it), AI mesh gen is starting to be usable today. Not yet for AAA hero assets, but good enough for props. But remember to scan the results for potential infringement. AI sometimes generates logos/emblems that are recognizable.

@needhotpot Also Kuro writers and their master love bullshit. A match made in hell. It's so irritating that they are using it as a cheap way to mask other issues with the story. Master love is ok if written correctly (refer to Jalter in FGO). But Kuro does it in the worst possible way.

@needhotpot At this point every new PGR chapter can be summrazied with "What is the next piece of lore that we can retcon into the most generic shit possible?" They are speed running lore/story destruction at this point. Can't have lore consistency issues when you just destroy everything.

@inversecrown Basically Epitah powercrept Nanami's mecha frame (forgot the name) while it is less than two years old without even a vfx skin, and most people were waiting for an ice frame, attacker or tank.

@__sb______ Unfortunately it's just how it is right now. Kuro refuses to listen to like 90% of the feedbacks by beta testers. Might as well stop doing beta tests once and for all if they are not going to listen. They are speedrunning EOS anyway.

If you ever think you're useless, remember that PGR CN beta testers exists...

@WesleyPrower @uaemie They are not just complaining about that. CN players had been (rightfully) complaining about the terrible powercreep, declining writing and frame design, non-stop S ranks with no pull and character resources for the last year. And Kuro haven't done shit to address any of those.

@uaemie The majority of the loud minority I would say, I guess I could put CN on this but right now they are too busy complaining that they can't self insert anymore because skk now has a appearence.

kuro wants PGR to last 10 years but it seems like they’re speedrunning EOS. like wanting this game off their back to have those developers focus on something else. i don’t understand how you have the majority of your playerbase complaining and not address it

@Riju2T_T @coggerssss "How is there a horrible state of powercreep". Are we for real now? Have you played Kamui's new frame at all? The thing raise WZ's highest score record from 30 mil to well over 50mil in a single patch. He can do 30+ mils in Plasma Beam while having a Selena on his team.

@coggerssss how is there a horrible state of powercreep? and what do you mean new frames are barebones i havent faced much bugs so i wont talk about it. story , yes its been in the decline for a while i know. i dont think new characters being added is a bad thing if executed well

story's been in a big decline, the game is very bugged, most new frames are very bare bones, the meta is in a horrible state of powercreep, new characters added while the old ones have been left to rot for 4-6 years, close to zero male presence... and these are 'small things'?

@PBliyte Also. Even if they just had to the timeline reset shenanigans, they could have done it so much better they did. The reset felt rushed and missing many things I wanted to see.

@PBliyte I still believe they wrote themselves into a corner in Shaper's Ripples to go for the timeline reset cliche. If this is a single player game and they ended it with modified versions of the alternate endings in Wither To Shine it would be ok. But this is not a single player game.

ngl PGR lost the sauce when they did all the timeline reset shenanigans and everyone kept glazing the direction the game was shifting towards

@uaemie A fellow Dream Till the Timeless End hater. I legit dozed off while reading that chapter (I was reading it after finishing a project). It's so...bland. Probably because I felt nothing for Selena. I was like "Put this romantic road trip into the affection story please".

I don’t dislike the story any less. My anger towards the writing decisions is fueled by how much I love this world If I had to “grade” them for how much I enjoyed the recent chapters… it looks meh. My issues are related to Weird Choices by CLEAR new writers

@uaemie So seeing an MC that acts like a natural affection magnet just makes everything feels cheap and uninteresting.

@uaemie I might be exaggerating here. But I got introduced to video games a whole through Mass Effects. Where you are expected to put in the effort to win characters over. Where they will legit die or try to kill you if you say/do the wrong things.

TLDR:

Why the fuck do modern games straight up refuse to launch if they don't like your hardware? Nigga, I'll play the game, whether it's in 5 fps or not. At least fucking try to launch it.
