I spent years defending @yoast against claims that it was 'bloated'. We worked hard to make sure it wasn't. Now, their AI recommendations feature ships a *1.8mb* JS file on post edit pages; mostly for creating+manipulating inline HTML & setting Tailwind classes. Disappointing.

@you_know_ai I understand that search results are being sourced from Bing, so if sites rank with Bing they should show in ChatGPT. Traffic may come from the right sidebar with traditional SERP listing. My eye is more attracted to that vs the AI waffle

It's super interesting to see that sites impacted by HCU can actually rank quite well in ChatGPT Search. However, it's not all great news. I tested a bunch of queries and found that in every case that an HCU site was showing, the answer the searcher was looking for was essentially provided by ChatGPT with little reason to click on the websites. @Marie_Haynes He talked about Google Lens being used for 20 billion visual searches every month. I've seen from other sources that Google processes 8.5 billion searches per day. This would means that nearly 10% of Google searches are now through Lens and not text based queries ...

@Marie_Haynes I think he will be at least pointing to the recent global expansion of AIO. Should he also adress the DOJ's proposed remedy for Google's anticompetitive conduct? Seems like a big issue for shareholders

@lilyraynyc UK is no longer part of the European Union. There are no European Union countries. No Switzerland.

Interesting that this Google article includes a link to the 100 countries they'll be expanding to. But unless I am missing something, none of those 100 countries include countries in the EU or Middle East!
