2/ Minneapolis police now say two teens were shot in connection to a stolen vehicle at 35th and Colfax Ave N, ages 14 and 16. Police initially responded on a report of three people stealing a vehicle, and then reports of shots fired.

Some kind of significant auto theft incident in north Minneapolis overnight that was responded to by multiple squads and Crime Lab at 35th and Colfax Ave N. No details due to encryption, but there's a potential match on the jail roster. We'll update when more info becomes available.

2/ NEW info: The search is for a kidnapping suspect. Sounds like a vehicle was taken with a child inside. The vehicle has been located abandoned and the child is reunited with mom. The search is ongoing for the suspect in Near North Minneapolis.

Alert from U of M Twin Cities: Aggravated Assault at 2145 hrs on 03/31/2026 at Harvard & Beacon St SE. Campus community member was involved and the incident was on campus. Suspect fired projectiles at the victim from a moving vehicle, possibly using a BB gun. Victim was struck and sustained minor injuries. Veh description described as a red Chevrolet Malibu.
