An energy firm told me people hold out to put their central heating on, then once on it stays on for the rest of the winter. On that logic people will have turned it on during the Dec cold snap, and then even though it got as warm as before that after, kept it on. Did you?

Key point to remember tho - a smaller % of a much larger number of cases will still put increased pressure on NHS and economy.
