Life Update: Brody's leg surgery that we originally had planned over Thanksgiving is a go in March. This year is going to be a tough one for us all, so please pray for us as we navigate this.
They are going to start the process of straightening his legs with the hope that it will give him some increased independence and function. We will be seeing a specialist in Florida for the operation. They will do one leg first in one/two operations, depending on the extent of the surgery. B and Mama will have to stay in Florida for an entire month as H I travel to/from Kansas during that time to keep her in school and try to keep my practice running.
Then, 12 weeks later, they will repeat the process for the other leg. Another 1-2 operations, another month in Florida, and another few trips for H and me back and forth during the summer. B will spend a good amount of his last year of elementary school in a hospital and a good amount of his summer break in a hospital as well, but we are hoping to have this all finished before he starts middle school in the fall (How the F do I have a middle-schooler already?!).
Please pray for my family - particularly B. We will need it this year. I know my prayer warriors will come through for us as they always have. Trusting God to get us through this and hoping for extraordinary results and healing on the other side.

Back surgery on a Tuesday and back to school on the next Monday. STUD!

Just spoke with Brody’s surgeon. The surgery went great! Brody did great! Rod replacement went perfectly and Brody’s neuromonitoring was perfect through the procedure!
B asked for dad to spend the night with him tonight in the hospital so hopefully we get some sleep and if not I’ll rest up tomorrow while mama takes over.
Thank you all so much for the prayers! It means the world to us!

Pre-op checkups went great! Brody’s neck and spine are looking great. Surgery SHOULD be simple, but they never are with kids with conditions as complicated as B’s. Appreciate all the kind words and prayers!
Now some brunch at our favorite place (Brandywine Diner) and a family day before surgery tomorrow!
