The national average price of gasoline stands at $3.93/gal, now up 99c/gal from a month ago, with diesel at $5.16/gal, up $1.47/gal from a month ago. Combining spending on gasoline and diesel, Americans are paying ~$575 million more every day compared to a month ago.

🚨 Total factor productivity grew just 0.8% in 2025, down from 1.5% in 2024. Notable tidbit: In 2024, the 1.6-percent growth in the contribution of intellectual property products accounted for more than half of the 2.7-percent capital input growth. Equipment’s contribution, however, has declined since 2019.

US WHOLESALE INFLATION SPIKES MORE THAN EXPECTED US producer prices rose 0.7% in February, above forecasts, with core wholesale inflation up 0.5%. The increase reflects higher costs for goods and services, even as consumer inflation had recently eased before rising energy prices tied to the Iran war.
