Ralph Mann's view on youth training:
"I frequently get emails from the parents of young athletes, asking my help or advice on how to help their offspring improve their performance. My answer is always the same. I suggest that everything they do for their child—from the coach that is selected, the workouts they run, the camps they experience, and the competitions they attend—the primary goal should be to “have fun and play lots of sports.”
I am firmly against early, structured training for young athletes."

"The Empty Suit: Finally, there are coaches that let their egos dominate their coaching careers. They spend more time promoting themselves, writing low-level coaching books or posts, and building their internet support base than actually developing athletes. These are the only coaches in this list that are detrimental to the sport; they lead the gullible into believing that all they need is whatever they are blogging or selling this week to become an elite coach." Ralph Mann spit fire: "I can tell you that the elite coaches that I work with rarely—usually never—personally put anything coaching-related on social media. They spend most of their time with their athletes, or preparing for the next day, week, or month of development. Major presence on the web is primarily done by those that are selling something, trying to convince their followers that they are an elite-level coach, or looking for their next paid consultant job or presentation."

To reinforce this, one time my steak was overcooked at Capital Grille. Everyone and their mother came up and apologized and then gave the entire table of 5 free desserts until we couldn't move. That was 6 years ago and i still remember how great it was.

The data shows the most loyal customers are not those that have never had a problem, but those that had a setback that the company resolved with unexpectedly great service.
