“4 in 5 Australians just want affordable, reliable energy.”
Not ideology.
Not experiments.
Just energy that works.

@SkyNewsAust This isn’t a win, since getting elected labor have increased our store from ZERO under LNP to where we are now, steadily increasing each year, but it takes time to build the storage (it’s huge) and billions of dollars that none of the opposition want the government to spend

@GusLefty @PaulineHansonOz Reliability has definitely improved majorly as the supply from renewables has increased I live in area that had frequent outages But in last 10 yrs zero that are not forewarned maintenance outages .

Gas and coal power plants in Australia frequently experience breakdowns, particularly during extreme heat when demand is high.
Gas & Coal recorded 135 breakdowns in 2018
In 2025, Australia's ageing coal-fired power stations experienced significant reliability issues, with over 100 outages recorded during the summer period alone.
Over 90% of these 108 summer outages were unplanned, with roughly 25% of coal capacity in NSW and Victoria offline at any time

Australia’s renewables experiment is falling apart.
It’s set to cost over a trillion dollars, it’s not delivering the reliable energy we need to grow the economy, and families are paying the price through higher power bills. On top of that, it’s chewing up valuable farming land and won’t make a difference to global temperatures at all.
These industrial-scale projects have become a taxpayer-funded racket. A One Nation government would be quick to pull the plug on funding.
Enough is enough. And at the ballot box, voters should send a clear message to any candidate backing these outrageous, failed projects.

Get back to me when you can graze sheep and cattle or grow crops on a coal mine or coal power station or on a gas fracking area

10's of billions of taxpayer money for 1 year of fuel in around 3-5 years - hardly easing the fuel crisis caused by Netanyahu and Trump in 2026
Taroom Trough oil reserves
Here are the key details regarding the Taroom Trough project as of April 2026:
The Taroom Trough oil reserves, emerging as a major new onshore oil province in Queensland, hold *potential to supply Australia with oil for roughly 300 days* based on 2026 demand rates
ONLY ENOUGH FOR 300 DAYS IN 2028 AT EARLIEST WHAT A CON JOB
Production Timeline: While exploration is underway and small amounts are currently flowing for testing, full-scale production is not expected until around 2028-2030.

Queensland premier calls for fast-track of oil projects amid fuel crisis abc.net.au/news/2026-04-0…
English

As of 2023–2025, Australia has limited conventional oil reserves that are depleting faster than they are replaced, lasting roughly 4–6 years at current production rates.
While significant unconventional shale oil exists, most produced conventional oil is exported, leaving the country dependent on imports and holding minimum stock requirements rather than large, long-term strategic reserves

2014: Crude petroleum was Australia's second top import ($20.0 billion), with refined petroleum third ($18.6 billion).
Imports of transport fuel were already heavily influenced by Singapore (43% in 2013-14).
2019-2022: Australia's fuel security became a major focus as domestic refineries closed, increasing reliance on imports, which reached 91% for refined products like petrol and diesel by 2022
Between 2014 and 2022, Australia's reliance on imported oil grew, with over 90% of crude and refined products imported by 2022.
Imports were heavily dominated by transport fuels from Singapore, South Korea, and Japan.
Due to declining domestic production, crude oil imports averaged around 153k barrels per day in the early 2020s.

There’s been a global trend of young women leaning heavily left for years now.
But in Australia, this massive shift towards One Nation is bucking it.
Whether this means we’re seeing the pendulum swing back towards conservatism is too early to tell.
At a very minimum, this crucial cohort is sending Labor a brutal message.

How could Australia be suffering a DOUBLE energy crisis when the nation exports several times more energy than it consumes and far more than the United States, which has no energy crisis? 🙄
Looking to the US, what needs to be done to ensure Australia’s energy security...
