Giveaway. @HCAdamSec and @SecureAerospace are sponsoring today’s giveaway of a set of the sold-out Aerospace Village 2024 & 2025 DEF CON badge + SAO. This badge is a fully custom (and hackable) Linux SBC with integrated ADS-B receiver, GPS, and more. The “Charlie” SAO adds even more capabilities including listening to Air-Band VHF audio, broadcast FM (in stereo!) and weather radio on a grayscale OLED, all made possible with a plethora of hardware hacks! The Aerospace Village is a non-profit organization where aerospace security and hacker culture come together to build a more secure aerospace future. - Leave a comment below for a chance to win - United States only

@DecryptedTech There’s actually a built-in ADSB PCB antenna, so soldering the external antenna SMA connector is optional and not necessary to receive planes!

Did anyone else get an aerospace village badge that did not have the antenna soldered on? Mine was loose in the bag :(

The @SecureAerospace badge however, holy shit, I mean where does one begin? ADS-B signals, FM radio, air band, oh so so much more and dat UX!! Honestly this is just something else.

Badgelyfe is very much a thing and I’ve had the pleasure of having many in recent years. The DC27 by my friend @joegrand was just beautiful on so many levels. Quartz gemstone and some epic engineering using near field magnetic induction to interact with other badges

Very fine work in this 38C3 talk by Adam Batori and Robert Pafford, getting code execution on the RF coprocessors of a TI SimpleLink chip, then leveraging that access to receive narrow-band *analog* FM audio! media.ccc.de/v/38c3-beyond-…
