Can confirm from ESPN sources that Michael Malone is set to average more than $8.3 million per year on his six year deal. That will put him among the top five highest in the sport, as Bill Self made $8.8 million this year. @murphsturph first reported.

Per ESPN sources, Lloyd’s five-year deal will start in 2026-27 at nearly $7.2 million and will average $7.5 million over the life of the deal, per me and @jeffborzello. The deal also includes significant bonues and additional commitment to staff salary pool.

Positives:
Coach Jacobson's buyout is pennies compared to the other rumored head coaches: Mark Madsen and Eric Olen.
Utah State can now take that $3+ million from Calhoun and reinvest it into our team.
I hope that Coach Jacobson's first objective is to find the cost to retain our current roster of studs, and then begin to fill out the team after that.

@efrandsen It’s a safety hire by the AD. He’s proven to have solid success in his history. More during his early years compared to recent.
If UNI doesn’t win 4 games in 4 days during the MVC tournament this year, I’m not sure Ben has a chance at this job.

I have mixed feelings on the hire. It breaks the mold of hiring an up and comer...but maybe that was the point. I imagine there must have been some voices in Cam Walker's ear to find someone who will bring stability.
