@jorgeluisalcan6 @imkikosuarez the level of competition being fluctuating is not an excuse for an all timer to have one good game in 6 editions of the WC. Forget golden ball, atleast be good enough to be in the debate of team of the tournament just once

@HaalandRodri @imkikosuarez I definitely didn't see Pele or Maradona's WC, I would assume you also didn't, but maybe you're older than I think. Regardless, the prestige is not in question whatsoever, but the level of competition right now is definitely higher than it was during their time; that's my point

This is the biggest and best litmus test in football Doesnt matter if you put Messi above him, that completely fine, but you have ZERO ball knowledge if you put him anywhere outside top 2, let alone “obviously not top 3”
Pythagoras In Boots ⚽️@pythaginboots

Is Cristiano Ronaldo the most FORCED GOAT in Sports History? Never seen someone so obviously not a top 3 candidate but his PR campaign is insane. Thoughts? Have we seen this level of delusion in other sports… #portugal #worldcup

@jorgeluisalcan6 @imkikosuarez and you cannot cherry pick as it's not a matter of opinion. same way I cannot say copa del rey is bigger than la liga, I cannot say the WC which is historically the biggest tournament is smaller than the champions league. the prestige and pressure are just different in WC.

@Rmadonyfc_ have you ever considered the fact that Ronaldo being a narcissist who has openly talked shit about Messi or many things may be an insufferable cunt in the dressing room and the players cannot respect an insufferable cunt like him?

Otamendi 🗣️: “When Messi is on the pitch, everyone runs a little harder. Not because he asks us to…..Some teams have great players. We have Messi. And trust me, that’s a privilege none of us take for granted.” Joao Nevez 🗣️ : “Ronaldo is just another player in the team” Both Ronaldo and Messi never asked their countrymen to carry them, one country understands the importance of their greatest player, the other doesn’t.

Same Ronaldo that was booed by his own fans at Euro 2004, blamed after the 2006 World Cup, constantly labeled selfish throughout his career, dropped and benched by Portugal at the 2022 World Cup, publicly criticized by his own coach and is still getting hammered by the media at 41 during this 2026 World Cup? Your take belongs in the museum of terrible football opinions.

@JDan851 @someballfacts Facts are facts Cr7 flopped under the biggest pressure that is the WC unlike the legends who did it under the biggest pressure I'm being generous when I put him at #9, some people would put him outside considering how he cannot handle the WC pressure

Let me be clear about Cristiano. And I hope it's the last time I make such a declaration. I am a lover of football first, foremost, and last. I was never a fan of Ronaldo, nor did I ever really gravitate to his football aesthetically. When your favorite players are Maradona / Zidane / Rui Costa / Figo etc - players who are collectivist and have a broader vision of the pitch - you just don't gravitate to Ronaldo. However, I will say this. He is undoubtedly as great a player both in talent and achievement as any that has come before (or with) him. I prefer what Diego proposes with the ball. I don't think Ronaldo could ever replicate Diego's heroics in 86. But I don't think Diego could guarantee the inevitable goal against every opponent in the UCL and lead to a 3peat. That is to say - Ronaldo is a pillar of our sport. There is no history of football without Ronaldo. Whether you like or dislike his football. Whether you like or dislike his personality. He has always been divisive - some of it is due to his personality and some of it due to an impossible and deepseated hatred in Anglo-media since 2006 that never let up and that we can all see. I have never seen a player travel to every stadium in England - even his own - and get booed for a year. And the scorn that he has had to face never let up - with vultures ready to pounce st the first sign of trouble. Sport is about the human spirit. Teaching us to persevere against all odds. Consistency, discipline and courage when the going gets tough. THAT is the lesson sport imparts for our children. THAT is why some sportsmen are heroes. What Ronaldo is doing at 41 is nothing short of an UNPRECEDENTED sporting achievement and act of singular heroism. The sheer amount of work necessary and the willpower to fight against the dying of the light to represent his country. An indomitable spirit. If that isn't enough to stir and inspire you - I don't what can. This is beyond commendable - it is inspiring. He has embarked on an impossible mission - to show us that the human spirit has no limits. Do we tell a an explorer NOT to attempt to travel to the moon? Because it is near impossible and fraught with risk? Or do we applaud and cheer on a man in his bravery? Food for thought. But beyond that, the recent deluge of vitriol, wanton disrespect, and media pile-on is frankly disgusting and evil. It is evil because you are spitting in the face of a 150 year old tradition and culture that we call football. The culture we call home and brings together billions of people. Cristiano is football. And football is Cristiano. Whether you love, hate or are ambivalent about him. And for that, a modicum of respect as a fan of the game for OUR game is necessary. To see charlatans and half-achievers and no-names aspire for clicks and media fame and buzz to keep their name going or out of some tragic, personal hate and dislike for a man is saddening. It is saddening because these people do not belong in the culture they desecrate. The culture they weaponize, utilize, and instrumentalize but provide nothing to. Today we reject these people. We won't accept them in our circle anymore. Forza Cristiano. Against the dying of the light.

@jorgeluisalcan6 @imkikosuarez All the players I have rated above have a similar consistency across their career, you were just too young to be born in that time. the sports has also changed but the prestige of the WC is bigger than ever, and Ronaldo had zero prestige in it so he's a fraud

@HaalandRodri @imkikosuarez Not overwriting, but recognizing where context applies. I value the athlete's consistency over the 1-month peak that the WC usually is. Also, the changes in football: when Pele won it, the WC had only 16 teams, and when Diego won it, it was 24 teams, so the sport has also changed

@HaalandRodri @imkikosuarez That's where we pick and choose. If WC is your #1 parameter for who's the best, well, of course, CR7 is barely top 10, but if we take into account his personal accolades, status as best UCL player of all time, and club career, then objectively he's above anyone other than Messi

@Paksarzameen13 @potterscope_ No lmao no one is asking Ronaldo to win the wc, it's a team effort. People are saying he needs a WC legacy as it's the biggest tournament but his legacy stinks. 1 good game in 6 editions lmao he's a fraud

@potterscope_ That is what I said so Mustafi should be considered a world class defender but he isn't, so comparing solely on WC is a skewed judgment. It's personal opinion as to who you "enjoy" watching, they are both equal.

This is the issue I have with anti-Ronaldo people. Messi being the consensus number one is not enough for you, Ronaldo also has to be humiliated for you to be satisfied. Why lie about a 20-year career this way? He’s become so easy to disrespect and I hate it!

@realtundeyoung The last two major tournaments before this WC, he stunk the place out. This one has started, and he had a stinker as well. This is bound to happen. With time, people would start making inquests into your legacy. It's a lesson on knowing when to bow out when it's time.

@TravihnG @atharva_rgn @someballfacts before he won the world cup he was the best player in the 2014 edition, so his legacy was built before 2022 and only after 2022 he solidified himself. No one is asking ronaldo to win the WC, it's a team game afterall. He just needs to buikd

@jorgeluisalcan6 @imkikosuarez because there are players outside of the current generation who have done it for club and country at the biggest stage. a less impressive club career ofcourse but far bigger WC legacy and that makes them comparable to a player with better club career but zero WC legacy

@HaalandRodri @imkikosuarez I agree with him having a terrible WC career, no one doubts that, but why does that take away from his club career being astronomically better than most others in the top 5? The 5 UCLs, 4 Golden Boots, 7 league titles across 3 different countries, Euro 2016, and much more

@TravihnG @HaalandRodri @someballfacts Won't work mate. If you're consistently in the worst XI of almost every World Cup, there's no way you'll be top 3. WC is the most prestigious and important competition in the sport. You won't find place in the top tier with a crap legacy in that competition.
