The bank exposure issue is why you screen individual stocks rather than buying the whole index. Most Turkish banks fail the debt/interest-bearing deposit thresholds under AAOIFI. For US-listed Turkish ADRs or global stocks, halalscreener.app screens 4,300+ tickers against AAOIFI ratios in seconds — free to start.

@houseofqahwa You can buy the Turkish index via US stock market. It includes banks though so could be haram. Other than that if you visit Turkey you can open an investment account at Ziraat bank and can trade stocks. Or open an account with Kuveyt Turk and they have a halal portfolio.

Good breakdown. One thing to add: "Shariah-compliant" is a marketing claim until it's verified by actual AAOIFI screening. Any crypto project can claim it. For crypto that IS listed and tradeable, you can run it through proper AAOIFI ratios at halalscreener.app. Sidra's not there yet — which tells you everything about where it actually stands.

What news do you know about sidra chain Here’s the real situation with Sidra Chain right now—no hype, just signal. 🚨 The Big Narrative (2026) Sidra Chain is pushing one strong story: “Islamic DeFi backbone.” It’s positioning itself as a Shariah-compliant blockchain ecosystem Focus: ethical finance, identity (KYC), and asset tokenization  That’s the lane. Not competing with meme coins. Competing with financial systems. ⚙️ Current Developments What’s actually happening under the hood: Transition from “mining phase” → Mainnet phase (still ongoing)  Building ecosystem: KYC infrastructure (mass verification system) Launchpad for Islamic-compliant projects Wallet + asset management tools  Speed claims: Near-instant transactions (2–4 seconds) Low fees, fast smart contracts  That’s the tech narrative they’re selling. 🌍 Expansion Moves There’s a big push into GCC (Middle East market): Targeting a $100B+ Islamic finance market  Framing itself as the bridge between: Crypto Islamic banking This is strategic. If they win that niche, it’s massive. ⚠️ The Red Flag You Can’t Ignore This is where most people get it twisted: 👉 Sidra token (SDA) is NOT officially listed on major exchanges yet  Meaning: No confirmed liquidity No real price discovery Most “buy/sell offers” you see = potential scams Let that sink in. 🧠 Market Sentiment (Real Talk) The community is split: Believers: “This is the future of halal crypto finance” Skeptics: “Still early-stage + heavy hype + unclear valuation” Some traders are already calling current excitement temporary hype cycles  💥 Bottom Line Sidra Chain is not dead. But it’s not proven either. It’s in that dangerous zone: Big vision. Small execution history. 🔥 If You’re Thinking Like a Pro Trader You don’t chase narratives. You position around them. Ask yourself: Where is liquidity? Where is real adoption? Where is exchange validation? Until those three align… you’re not investing—you’re speculating.

No legal requirement, but many UK pension providers do offer a Shariah fund option if you request it (Nest, Aviva, Legal & General all have one). If yours doesn't, a SIPP lets you pick your own holdings. You can screen any stock against AAOIFI thresholds at halalscreener.app — free to start.

@Ikram_HHH @CrispinCapital I presume most UK employers don't as a default offer a Shariah compliant fund? Are employers legally required to find one and make their contributions to it?

NB (Nigerian Breweries) produces and sells alcohol — it fails the haram revenue threshold immediately under AAOIFI standards. That one's a clear no for halal investors. If you want to screen Nigerian or global stocks quickly, halalscreener.app checks all 3 AAOIFI ratios in seconds. Free to use.

@Abubaka41965675 @the_goodfemi @Mahmoudsardauna For US stocks, the issue with halal ETFs is you don't always know what's inside — many hold stocks that fail AAOIFI thresholds on debt or deposits. Screening individual stocks yourself gives full control and full transparency on every ratio. Free screener in bio.

@ganicastro Nigerian Breweries would fail AAOIFI screening immediately — alcohol is prohibited revenue, and it needs to be under 5% of total revenue to pass. NB's core business IS alcohol, so it's not halal regardless of the insider buying signal. Your halal instinct is right on this one.

Exactly right. But "halal stocks" isn't just about what the company sells — the financial ratios matter too. 3 AAOIFI tests every stock must pass: → Debt < 33% of market cap → Interest-bearing deposits < 33% → Haram revenue < 5% A lot of stocks people assume are halal actually fail one of these. @_HalalTrader_ $MU passes AAOIFI screening — debt ratio is clean, interest-bearing deposits well under 33%, haram revenue essentially 0% (pure semiconductor). The technical dip doesn't change the compliance picture. Good fundamentals + halal = rare combo in tech. InshAllah the gap closes.

$MU print was so good that every single reputed analyst raised their PT. The current price action doesn’t reflect fundamentals. With 3.5x fwd PE, there isn’t much room to go further down. We probably close the gap around 390 and go back to the upswing. InshaAllah.
Hardik Shah@AIStockSavvy

$MU | Micron Technology (MU) Analyst Price Target Updates Cantor leads with a massive $700 PT, Barclays at $675, and multiple firms pushing $600+. AI memory demand driving one of the most bullish setups on the Street.

good thinking on shariah-compliant money market funds — diversification matters. one thing worth checking though: even stocks that seem "halal" by industry can fail AAOIFI screening on financial ratios (debt, interest-bearing deposits, haram revenue). the thresholds surprise a lot of people. we built a free tool that screens 4,300+ stocks against all 3 AAOIFI criteria in seconds — halalscreener.app

Thanks Amer bhai for your recommendation @irisktaker is already doing SIP in Stocks and Gold which is good, at this point of time, I would suggest some exposure in shariah compliant money market funds too and in the meantime, if stocks become attractive wrt dividend yield, would recommend increased SIP in dividend yield stocks.

Checking if a stock is halal manually: 1. Find the annual report (SEC EDGAR) 2. Calculate debt-to-market-cap ratio 3. Calculate interest-bearing deposits ratio 4. Find prohibited revenue percentage 5. Compare against AAOIFI thresholds 6. Repeat for every stock you own Time: 45+ minutes PER STOCK. Or type the ticker into HalalScreener. Time: 3 seconds.

We screened the 100 most popular US stocks. 37 of them FAILED Shariah compliance. That's 1 in 3 stocks you probably own. Including $META — it passes debt screening but FAILS on interest-bearing deposits (38.2% vs 33% max). Compliance isn't about the product. It's about the ratios.

Great list! The key is always verifying the financials — debt ratio, interest income, and haram revenue all need to be under AAOIFI thresholds. Even stocks in an Islamic index can shift compliance quarter to quarter. For US-listed stocks, we screen 4,300+ against those exact ratios and show the full breakdown. Would love to see NGX coverage tools grow too — the Nigerian Muslim investor market is underserved. halalscreener.com

Yeah META surprises everyone. Financials pass (debt ratio is fine), but the qualitative screening flags it — ad revenue from content that promotes haram creates indirect exposure. That's why just checking ratios isn't enough. Full breakdown for any stock at halalscreener.com

Most Muslim investors don't realize: you can hold a "halal" stock today that fails screening next quarter. Company financials change. Debt ratios shift. Revenue streams evolve. That stock you checked 6 months ago? It might not be compliant anymore. This is why re-screening matters. Set it and forget it doesn't work in halal investing. We re-screen 4,300+ US stocks regularly against AAOIFI standards so you don't have to guess. Check your portfolio now: halalscreener.com
