“Our nationalism is not merely a morbid idealising of the past, but is also capable of formulating a distinct & definite answer to the problems of the present and a political & economic creed capable of adjustment to the wants of the future.” - Commandant General James Connolly.

As young voters across Ireland increasingly back Sinn Féin in opposition to partition, inequality and global imperialism, the party’s national chair, Declan Kearney, discusses the possibilities and pitfalls of this moment. tribunemag.co.uk/2026/03/genera…

The cheek of RTÉ using Kneecap in their buildup, even though the lads couldn’t watch the match from the comfort of their own homes in Béal Feirste. End the scandal of geoblocking RTÉ and end partition. Anyway, COYBIG ☘️

A tough one to take. The lads should hold their heads up high, they left absolutely everything on the pitch tonight. We’ll be back. COYBIG 💚🇮🇪

Thought Ireland were superb. Just very unlucky. Czech equaliser came from a soft free kick. Hit the woodwork twice in 90 minutes. Agonising way to go out, but Heimir has built something special with this team. Gutted tonight, but looking forward to the future. 🇮🇪#COYBIG

The lunacy of 2 different football teams and associations on our small island laid bare once again tonight. All-Ireland football team now.

Shocked to hear that the man who has supported and gave political cover to the genocide in Palestine thinks opposing that genocide is ‘intolerable’. You’ve lost 4 times now Keir, get over it.
Cool FM News@newsoncool

💥🗣NEW: Prime Minister brands what Kneecap 'say and what they stand for' as 'completely intolerable.' 🎤Prime Minister Sir @Keir_Starmer says his views on Kneecap are well known, branding the band’s stance as intolerable. 🎥Chief Reporter @jamesgould23 was in Lisburn. It comes just a day after it emerged that Kneecap rapper Liam Óg Ó hAnnaidh will not face a terror trial, after judges at the High Court rejected a Crown Prosecution Service appeal against the decision to throw out the case. The Prime Minister says he believes the judgment will be examined very carefully. Speaking at a press conference in Belfast shortly after the ruling yesterday, Ó hAnnaidh said: “This is bigger than us – whatever kind of stress that we felt, it’s minimal compared to the stress put on the families in Gaza. “We’ll continue to use whatever platform we have to talk about Gaza,” he added, saying the band has “lost gigs” and been “restricted” as a result of the court proceedings.

Today’s military strikes on Iran — carried out by the United States and Israel — mark a catastrophic escalation in an illegal war of aggression. Bombing cities. Killing civilians. Opening a new theater of war.  Americans do not want this. They do not want another war in pursuit of regime change. They want relief from the affordability crisis. They want peace. I am focused on making sure that every New Yorker is safe. I have been in contact with our Police Commissioner and emergency management officials. We are taking proactive steps, including increasing coordination across agencies and enhancing patrols of sensitive locations out of an abundance of caution. Additionally, I want to speak directly to Iranian New Yorkers: you are part of the fabric of this city — you are our neighbors, small business owners, students, artists, workers, and community leaders. You will be safe here.

Lol at this person believing he’s a fresh voice while leading the party that gave us the Special Powers Act and gerrymandering. The UPP ran the discriminatory Orange state for 50 years. “Making NI work” but only on your terms isn’t a new vision. It’s the same old bluff.

We should all be striving to make Northern Ireland work, foster good relations and promote Northern Ireland’s excellent workforce around the world. Sadly, Sinn Fein have been doing the opposite on all these counts in recent months.
