@vcvenus I'm pretty sure the world knows we still have a military. And unless we want to have a Soviet-style military parade, complete with nukes, the inauguration of a new president is probably the worst possible way to show it

Why would we have a Capitol building fortified with concertina razor wire, ringed by 20,000 troops with orders to shoot to kill, and the entire national security apparatus on high alert, rather than just move the inauguration indoors and livestream it to the world?

@vcvenus The image we will be projecting to the world next week will be the ugliest vision of America the world has seen in generations. Donald Trump's America. A dignified swearing in ceremony in the Capitol rotunda would signal a peaceful transition to Joe Biden's America.

Any Republican calling for unity needs to start by saying these words: "Joe Biden was duly-elected President of the United States in a free and fair election. There was absolutely no widespread voter fraud. Biden won. Trump lost."
