Ultimately, Karl Stefanovic was taken out by the very cancel culture and ideology he spent decades propping up while working in mainstream media. Until the bitter end, he tried to have his cake and eat it too. But ultimately, he was operating in two worlds that were never going to align.
I don’t even know who watches mainstream networks like Nine anymore. Legacy media is on the way out, and at the end of the day, someone with Karl’s talent and connections has a better shot than most at making it on their own.
I don’t think he’s a martyr for any noble cause though; he was a foot soldier for mainstream elitism for a long time. Good luck to him either way.

I'm going to say something that a lot of my followers will disagree with. If One Nation get dragged into the Abortion debate by activists - their vote will collapse. Abortion is the topic that kept Christian conservative parties locked at 2%. It's just a statistical fact. Abortion is the argument the left are begging to have because they don't want to talk about migration or taxes. And they they certainly don't want to talk about energy reform. Debating abortion is the fastest way to scare off the female vote right when women are joining the party in record numbers. One Nation stayed away from this topic for decades. Farage and Trump do the same thing - because they know. But since inviting more radical members of the Christian right into office, One Nation have been drawn into this territory. And yes, we can talk about the specifics of sex-selective abortion - but the people pushing this legislation have declared their outright intention to ban all abortion. They want this to be a slippery slope rather than an isolated loop hole close. They go on podcast after podcast talking about it. And those are the soundbites that work their way through the press. And it will sink the party. It will destroy the vote. And the best chance we have ever had to save this nation will be lost. Not only will abortion laws not pass (for those who want them) all the other fundamental laws that we need to rescue Australia will be lost. This is not the time or the place to open the abortion discussion.

WHY THE PROSECUTION SHOULD APPEAL
The judge made a huge call in assessing both A and B below:
A) The recording was made in Israel by a private person (streamer) on their own device. NSW surveillance laws don’t reach that far, so there’s a real question whether any Australian law was broken altogether.
B) Even if there was a technical breach, s138 of the Evidence Act is clear that evidence that was obtained improperly or unlawfully mustn’t be admitted UNLESS the court decides that the desirability of admitting it outweighs the undesirability of admitting evidence obtained that way.
The fact is this video has very high value, it’s direct proof of exactly what was “allegedly” said. It was recorded by a private person overseas, not by police, and it’s already public. The case involves serious allegations about hospital staff and patients. Given those factors, the law REQUIRES the court to properly weigh whether the video should be let into evidence (even if it was obtained illegally!).
Throwing out the best evidence on a technicality in a case like this is hard to justify. The full facts should be heard.
(This is a rough overview/analysis with minimal technical detail.)
