@Indy_reporter_ Because the employer basically holds their passport and can keep their wage low since they won't be as outspoken for raises since they are happy to be here. Universities have a financial incentive for visa students and employees. That's why.
English

Purdue University has a "Notices of Intent to Hire H-1B/E3 Employee" for 2 Lecturers.
Salary is $98,000 and $87,000
Why aren't these jobs going to Americans?
purdue.edu/gpp/iss/schola…

English

@TeslaAaronL Aren't they legally supposed to be keeping their hands on the wheel?
English

@Shridhar_07 @iamrakeshbansal Says the account in India. You have no clue what you're talking about, we want universities to prefer US citizens which is what they do since they are forced to subsidize for in country or in state tuition. But you think they pick indians because they are so bright? Lol moron.
English

Most overlook how H-1B Indians already pay way more in taxes than they take.
One study shows each Indian immigrant saves US government $1.7 million over 30 years.
This bill might protect some jobs short-term but hurt universities losing $8-11 billion from fewer students.
India needs to build stronger local tech anyway.

Big News: US Bill to Pause H-1B Visas for 3 Years:
A group of US Republican lawmakers, led by Congressman Eli Crane, has introduced the “End H-1B Visa Abuse Act of 2026”.
This bill proposes:
• A complete 3-year pause on new H-1B visas.
• Big cuts to the annual cap (from 65,000 to 25,000).
• Minimum salary of $200,000 per year for H-1B holders.
• No more dependents (H-4 visas) coming with workers.
• Other strict rules to protect American jobs.
H-1B visas are heavily used by Indian IT professionals to work in the US.
Impact on Indian IT sector
Indian IT sector pehle se hi AI ki wajah se bahut struggle kar raha hai… ab aur kya maaroge isko?
Impact on Indian Students:
Students already in US will find it tough to stay after studies. Dream of OPT → H-1B → Green Card becomes difficult.
Future Students:
Fewer Indians will choose US for higher studies. Many will shift to Canada, UK, Germany or Australia.
Important Fact: Indian students pay $8-11 billion every year to US economy through fees & living costs. Less students = big loss for US universities.
This is still a proposal

@iamrakeshbansal Huge plus for the US Engineers. No one is meant to live out their life here on a visa if you all are so great make your own Universities and jobs.
English

@janninereid1 Maybe the problem is them instead of blaming two entire countries.
English

@iAnonPatriot Isn't this what the store fronts are for? Why are they cooking on the street? Shouldn't they set up a tent bazaar outside of the town/village? Lol
English

@PythonPr It's also interpreted not compiled. Serve different purposes.
English

@LisaP2345 @RandomWsLs @DeWayne236 Do you see a gun? If you hit them in the back of the head with a bat while their hands are full of clothes they can't reach for it.
English

@RandomWsLs @DeWayne236 If you try to stop them, they scream at you then attack you or worse, shoot everyone in the store.
English

@TruthHopeful @RandomWsLs Everyone is just standing around holding their phones with their thumbs up their asses.
English

@RandomWsLs Just watch……..no one os stopping them……that’s how we got here! Additionally, no one os holding the parents accountable for the actions of their minor children for the thieves who are under 18.
English

@RandomWsLs Can't you hit them with tasers? Are you not allowed to swing bats at them? Everyone in the store should go after these people.
English

@shriharap @nabilajamal_ Please do. As it's state sponsored money at least all the Indians I have met in grad school get a free ride paid for by their gov so universities prefer them over in state or in country residents since it's guaranteed hire profit. Stick with ur Internet "Engineer Degree"
English

@nabilajamal_ If this gets passed, then India should ban all Indians from joining American University, it's saved their precious money too
English

🚨 US congressional bill seeking a THREE YEAR H-1B suspension could hit Indian professionals hardest!
The End H-1B Visa Abuse Act of 2026 proposes cutting the annual cap from 65,000 to 25,000 and setting a $2,00,000 minimum annual salary for H-1B workers, a threshold that would disqualify many mid-level roles
H-1B holders would also be barred from bringing dependants to the US, and the path to permanent residency would be blocked entirely
Indians stuck in green card backlogs, some of whom waiting up to 20 years, stand to lose the most

English

@War4theWest @nabilajamal_ If H1B is indeed banned it will be good for India. Instead of India losing talented workforce to US companies, US companies would move to India to utilise the same workforce.
English

@War4theWest @nabilajamal_ American Engineer in tech here, the problem is so much worse than anyone will admit. I can cite numerous factual examples I have seen that won't fit in Twitter posts. It's supposed to be temp, ppl here for 20+ years in a rotating visa popping out kids left and right.
English

Yes, we are rooting for this. Why? See the attached graphic. 36 years of this, along with F-1. has literally been ethnically cleansing native born Americans from STEM.
Shocker - our tech industry is not meant to be a way to get up and out of poverty in India. I wish more Indians were honest about the level of fraud, abuse and exploitation that anyone familiar with how all this works knows is real. That 71% of H-1Bs are scooped up by Indians is prima facie evidence of abuse.
But if an American tech worker notices the industry is now flooded with Indians who routinely promote and prefer other Indians in hiring, we are racists?
American tech workers experience endless gaslighting on this topic.

English

@prashantb444 @ElSotong @CongressmanRaja @grok Lol this little girl is all butt hurt. Why would I pay for twitter? Fuckin reject.
English

@HardWarezz @ElSotong @CongressmanRaja @grok You got no money to buy premium and asking grok to answer your mor onic questions, get out of your basement and get some dollars from your stepdad to buy a premium pack Lo ser

Donald Trump’s decision to amplify a racist rant attacking India and immigrants is disgraceful and beneath the office he holds. His rhetoric doesn’t just insult millions of Indian Americans and one of our most important global partners—it undermines the values that have made America a nation of opportunity and innovation. We should be strengthening that partnership and honoring our diversity, not stoking division for political gain.

English

@TrumpsHurricane I call for nationwide pig roasts outside of mosques every day.
English

@ZZoariah Runs on you? Then go home and fix your country. The reason most of you are here in tech, because the tech company owns your visa and has more control over you and don't have to pay you as well as an American since you're just grateful you aren't in the shitting fields in India.
English

Hellhole? Say that to our face not from a podium your system built on immigrant labour still depends on.
You want to insult Indians while your hospitals run on us, your tech is coded by us, and your boardrooms are increasingly led by us? Pick a lane.
You talk assimilation, we talk results.
We didn’t beg for space in America, we earned it, outperformed, and made ourselves indispensable for u guys!
And geopolitically? While some of you rage online(LOOK AT THE COMMENTS OF THIS POST)your own establishment is busy shaking hands with India wrt defense, tech, supply chains because YOU need that partnership.
India isn’t here for your approval.
We’re a civilisation state rising on its own terms. Get used to it.
Hindu American Foundation@HinduAmerican
We are deeply disturbed by @POTUS sharing this hateful, racist screed targeting Indian and Chinese Americans. Endorsing such rants as the president of the United States will further stoke hatred and endanger our communities, at a time when xenophobia and racism are already at an all time high. We ask @realDonaldTrump to reconsider, delete this post & recognize the indelible contributions of Asian Americans to our great country.
English

@JudiciaryDems Not all of them. You can't have open immigration with a welfare state it isn't sustainable. Also the visa system is abused in tech, you have visa workers hiring visa workers over citizens, and you believe them when they say they can't find citizens. It's all a lie, I've seen it.
