@RThienprayoon I call patients by their first names. I ask them to call me by my first name. Not even ‘Dr’ (I know I am one) It helps break down the barriers. I don’t feel less respected. Never had a patient comment other than to say ‘thank you’.

Unpopular opinion: I refer to myself as Dr. Rachel because my last name is long, parents I meet are stressed, and my priority is not to distract them from their child and my role in their care w a long name. I don’t feel less professional for the use of my first name.
