@TheLastFarm I enjoy hearing the birds in my yard. I'm not so old that I'll identify every one but I often hear morning doves, brown headed cowbirds, and robins. The mocking birds can go fuck themselves though.

Since having kids it has absolutely confirmed in my mind that putting your child in daycare is paying someone else, usually a stranger, to raise them. And that is incredibly sad to me.

@benonwine They should kill them. They won't bc they're British but they both deserve to die. Thats fucked up. A baby only knows their caregiver in the world. To be tortured and abused by the only person you know and not understand why. It's really the greatest evil. Kill them.

This particular brand is not even the type you want to use for ponds. It's like someone did a quick google of ponds and algae, saw the use of hydrogen peroxide and just ordered some strong, cheap stuff. Zero mentions of pond algae on this product bottle. Also, they should be wearing more than just gloves when pouring this stuff and those kids should not be nearby. pfharris.com/harris-12-conc…

A father at QuikTrip checked the women’s restroom first and found it empty, so he took his two young daughters inside to use it. While they were washing their hands, another man walked in and started yelling that a guy had no business being in the women’s bathroom with his daughters.

The people I don't get the most are the "kids will find a way" crowd 😅 Think about the things western society almost UNIVERSALLY agrees children shouldn't have: alcohol, cigarettes, & restricted physical substances. We put age restrictions on them b/c we understand the devastating physical & developmental consequences. Do teenagers still find workarounds? Absolutely. But the fact that a 15-yr-old can sneak a drink doesn't mean we should abolish the legal drinking age. Even the most rebellious adults who accessed drugs early in life will fiercely protect their own kids from having open access to those same substances. So why is the proposed social media ban facing such fierce backlash? B/c the damage is silent. You can't see an algorithm eroding a child's mind in a lab the way you can see a cigarette damaging their lungs. Let's make the invisible harm visible(which is what I believe the campaigns leading up to this should've done a lot more). Nearly 40% of children ages 8 to 12 are already using social media. Adolescents spending more than 3 hrs daily on these platforms face double the risk of mental health issues like anxiety & depression. When asked about the impact on their body image, 46% of adolescents aged 13-17 said social media actively makes them feel worse. For teenage girls using platforms like Instagram, about 1 in 3 reported feeling worse about their bodies due to the app. As many as 72% of teens say they have been cyberbullied. Cyberbullying is more strongly correlated with suicide attempts than traditional face-to-face bullying. These apps are altering brain structure during a highly vulnerable developmental window, affecting areas like the amygdala that manage emotional learning. If a legal, physical product was doing this much quantifiable damage to an ENTIRE generation, we'd pull it from the shelves immediately. We need to stop pretending screens are safe just b/c there's no smoke.

I've used nicotine for 18 years straight. Used pipes, cigars, dip, chaw, snus -- and in the last few years, I started using ZYN. Enjoyed them all. But last year, I tried to switch back from ZYN to Swedish snus. Bizarrely, I suffered from immediate brain fog. Switched back immediately. My old friend snus just wasn't cutting it. It wasn't from a lack of nicotine: I was getting just as many mg of nic via the snus as I was from the ZYN, if not more. But the absorption was slower, I guess. That's when I started to get a little unnerved about these pouches, though I continued to use them heavily. Lately I've had brain fog, anxiety, shallow breath, just generally feeling off. Been going on for a few months. So I do a quick Google search looking into whether it might be the ZYN -- and I find a bunch of posts like this one. Suffice it to say I'm going to the Rez immediately and buying a log of General Snus. Will be switching back to real tobacco 100% of the time. Not gonna look back. No more pouches forever. Will slog through the brain fog or whatever. There's something bad about these things, and I say that as one who has been no less than a tin of 6mg's per day for several years. I suspect the unnaturally rapid absorption of the nicotine has some kind of negative effect, I don't know. Anyone else experienced this?

Zack@Asmongold

@mehdirhasan What does that have to do with driving a car into a building hitting police officers with a sledgehammer? Ultimately, people like Mehdi Hasan will always run defense for groups that support and enable Islamic terrorism In a saner world, all 4 of them would be executed

In the late 2000s, when progressives emerged from Tumblr and academia onto nascent Twitter and first started accusing everyone of being racist, a lot of white people’s reflexive response was: “I’m not racist, some of my best friends are black.” Progressives responded with contempt; personal friendships with individual black people did not absolve you of racism, because racism was not about interpersonal relationships, it was about systems; systems that ensured your white comfort which needed to be dismantled. “Some of my best friends are black,” is a way of signaling a kind of conditional openness — I want to make my country, my community, my neighborhood or my workplace welcoming and accessible to people from different kinds of backgrounds, provided they share my values — to people who are my friends. And that condition is what progressives argue makes you a racist. Your support and allyship must not be conditional on friendship or common values; you must be an ally and supporter of black people who are not your friends. You must support black criminals. You must support black people who hate you. You must open your country and your community to people who do despise everything you believe in. You should tolerate the violation every norm. People who are different shouldn’t have to assimilate to your culture; your culture must give way to glorious diversity. And this is the end result. So I say, everything to my friends, of every color and creed, who want to build the kind of world I want to live in; people who are comfortable under systems that make me comfortable. And to Karmelo Anthony’s supporters: Get the hell out of my neighborhood, or I will call the cops.

Podcaster Larry Reid calls for a "mass exodus" of black Americans to Africa in response to the Karmelo Anthony verdict. "I want you to begin to think about this America and the white people problem that we have... As a collective, let's drain this place of its benefits and make our mass exodus and go home and build." "Civil rights did not make white people that are infected with whiteness stop being racist. They still raised racist children that run this country to this day." "You come from a land that flows with milk and honey. They pulled you out of that land ancestrally and brought you to a place to where your royalty was not recognized. Used your black power, your black mysticism, your African spirituality, and your physiological superiority to build this country and give everybody reparations except you."

BREAKING: The UK is drafting a law to scan every photo, video and message on every phone in the country. Tech CEOs who refuse to implement this could face up to 5 years in prison. The proposal would force companies to build device level scanners that inspect content before encryption. That means: • Every image scanned • Every message inspected • Every video analyzed All directly on your phone. Governments and companies pushing these safety” systems already have a terrible track record protecting user data. Last month, Europe’s new age verification app, promoted as a way to "keep children safe," was hacked in under 2 minutes. In another case, over 70,000 IDs and selfies linked to online verification systems were exposed in a major breach. Now the UK wants even deeper access directly inside your device. Once governments force surveillance tools into every phone, they can expand what gets monitored at any time.
