@RetardDecoder Not sure where you staying, but maybe they're seasonal (legal) migrant workers that come to the Charleston, SC area to work the farms? They'd come different times of the year to plant and pick crops. We'd see them on Sundays at Walmart getting supplies and use Western Union.

I’m at a motel tonight near the South Carolina coast, but 10 miles inland. There’s nothing particularly special about this motel, but we noticed the parking lot is COMPLETELY full (in March). I mean, like every room is occupied. When we parked there were Hispanics all along the walkways sitting outside different rooms around the motel. This isn’t a Hispanic area at all. When I turned on YouTube in the room it showed the past logins, and out of the 15-20 I saw, all but maybe 2 were Hispanic names. Is it possible that the government—unbeknownst to Trump—is still shuttling these illegals in & putting them up at motels? I honestly don’t see how it could be any other scenario.

@mattvanswol There were 3 (THREE!) on the Republican ballot in Polk County who were pretending to be Republicans. She was the only one 'vocal' about NOT being a real Republican. I saw her on our local Facebook groups. Looks like they'll try to infiltrate the Republican party any way they can.

@Sassafrass_84 Yes, get rid of your other internet provider. After Helene, we got Starlink, because (after 36 days) Spectrum never hooked us back up. The internet is excellent. We live in a rural area in Western North Carolina and have the "residential-max" plan. No regrets!

So now that I have a starlink, does this mean I can turn off my other internet provider? Because 200 dollars a month for shitty internet is not worth it.

@DansForSenate I was with my mom for her final 46 hours (the hospital snuck us in). She passed January 31, 2021. Unfortunately, my mother-in-law died alone. The assisted living facility refused to let us in, so we sat in the parking lot. We were permitted to see her IMMEDIATELY AFTER she died.

Five years ago today, I was permitted a final, ten minute visit to say goodbye to my Dad who lay “dying of COVID” in the Covid Ward. We were required to put on “Moon Suits” to step in and pray over Dad. As my sister (in attached photo) prayed aloud from memory several prayers, and we all desperately tried to tell Dad of our love and evoke his deep faith, we knew Dad could hear us. A priest had come earlier to give Dad Last Rites. We were not allowed to even wet his mouth with ice chips, the apparent “medical” reason being to lessen contact with him, he being administered only IV fluids. He was clearly suffering. It was truly seeing your father nailed upon a cross. Dad did not die until 5 days later. We were not permitted to visit him again over those days, but we were assured we could join by iPAD and Zoom to be with him in his final moments. My father was a Great Man of Medicine. He spent his life healing the sick and protecting us from disease. He was a professor of Medicine at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and Vietnam Veteran with a Distinguished Career in the U.S Public Health Service fighting Infectious Disease. My father served at the National Institutes of Health at NIAID, the same Institue that Anthony Fauci later directed. They had several run ins over the years, and Dad considered Fauci a slick phony. Before Covid, Dad had been living with Parkinson’s in Assisted Living. He still had his faculties and managed for himself, but needed occasional care. For the past year in 2020, we had been permitted limited contact with him, sometimes only getting to see him on a balcony. To be sure, Dad had medical issues, but COVID was not one of them. Admitted because of an intestinal infection, he had tested negative for COVID three times, but positive on the Fourth test. That test had been 10 days prior, but the Doctors refused to retest him so that he might be moved out of the COVID ward. He had not received his regular Parkinson’s Medicine during his admission, the natural result being he would decompensate. Which he did. We were told that’s the COVID. COVID was a BIOLOGICAL WEAPON, and the response to it, was a CRIME AGAINST HUMANITY. It is hard not to conclude that many segments of the population were targeted to die. We need leaders in Public Life who will never permit this to happen again and who are committed to bring justice to the millions who were victimized like Dad. My fellow South Carolinians, as your next U.S. Senator, I WILL NOT STOP UNTIL FAUCI AND HIS COCONSPIRATORS ARE BROUGHT TO JUSTICE. I will get Americans the justice and compensation they deserve. COVID and its response, including forcing people to take the jab against their will and/or on the basis of fraudulent medical directives demand attention of the U.S. Senate. I pledge to work with @SecKennedy in order to bring accountability. We need fighters and I am committing to YOU today, on my honor, that I will get to the bottom of this, and put FAUCI IN AN ORANGE JUMPSUIT. We cannot simply forget and move on. What happened was EVIL. It’s personal for me.

Starlink melts snow to work in the coldest weather

@elonmusk YES! Ours did great through the ice storm. Only went offline for a few seconds during the worst of the heavy freezing rains, 40W kicked in (according to AP) and melted the ice. There were large icicles on it this morning, but sunshine here in WNC took care of them.

If you live in highlighted bands, but especially in the purple/pink... you need to start preparing for an intense winter storm right now. I did not head the warnings of many people before Hurricane Helene and we were caught totally unprepared. Do not make the same mistakes I did. Please start preparing for extreme cold and no power for at least a few days, right now. I have not commented on this until more professionals have weighed in, but this winter weather looks like it could be really bad and I'd rather you start preparing now, before the huge rush for supplies. Things I recommend: a) A gas or propane generator of some kind with plenty of fuel b) I personally own an Ecoflow battery with lots of solar (useless in winter storms). I use the gas generator to charge the battery and then use the battery to divide out power based on usage to my devices. c) Propane heater (BuddyHeater), I helped give out hundreds of these during the winter after Helene and they are amazing. If you can get your hands on an indoor rated one, ESPECIALLY if you don't have gas heat, these are so useful. d) A Starlink Mini for internet connection. This could save your life... plug this into the aforementioned battery or gas generator. e) Water + a way to make more, fill a few jugs and you'll thank yourself later. This was the one thing I did before Helene and that was HUGE. f) Food that doesn't require power, such as canned soups, peanut butter, jerky, etc. g) Blankets, blankets, blankets... sleeping bags are also awesome but wool socks, hats gloves, all are very useful. h) Light... especially if you aren't going to get a generator, this is very important, a NOAA radio with a crank or solar sometimes also acts as a light and you should get one today. Headlamps are great or lanterns and charge them now. i) Some random things people forget... - Carbon monoxide detector (especially if you’re using any generator/heater) - Fire extinguisher - First aid kit + any meds you need for 7–10 days. - Car prep: fill the tank now and get ice scrapers, but don't go on the road unless necessary - NEVER EVER EVER run a gas generator inside or in the garage... please, Carbon Monoxide will kill you. That's all I got for you, don't panic, just be prepared.

@mattvanswol We watched sermons from a church in Charlotte on Sunday evenings and stopped when the minister lied about ICE. He said ICE is dragging father's and mother's away from their kindergarten-aged children AT THEIR SCHOOLS. The church also promotes training on how to protest ICE.

We just started going back to church, so I want to say this carefully, because I’m fully aware I could be missing something... …but I’ve been feeling very frustrated with, what I perceive to be, a lack of passion for the truth in the church In a recent sermons, someone said something like, “Hurting people with our words is wrong and we shouldn’t do that.” Not “don’t be unnecessarily cruel…” which I agree with. It’s more like… “don’t make anyone feel bad.” Which is NOT the same thing, and frankly… I don’t know if that’s even possible. And I definitely don’t know if that’s what we should be trying to prioritize right now… people’s FEELINGS, of all things. Because if “hurting someone’s feelings” becomes the standard, then truth is AUTOMATICALLY in trouble. So what is the Christian church actually going for, here? That my responsibility is to protect your emotional comfort… even if it requires me to stay silent while you live a lie? Because I firmly believe the opposite. Lying to someone is wrong, BUT ALSO allowing someone to keep believing a lie is wrong. I guess the point I’m trying to get at here is that I feel like a lot of what gets called “kindness” right now is just fear of conflict, or put another way, I feel like kindness is used as a shield for Christians to be passive. “I’m not perfect, therefore I won’t correct anyone.” “I’m not God, therefore I won’t say anything.” “I might make a mistake, so I’ll stay out of it.” What on earth do you think that creates? It creates a world where nobody with a conscience says anything out loud, a bunch of people walking around confusing their kindness with pure cowardice. Honestly, I just feel alone in the fight. What happens when all the “good” people decide the holiest thing they can do is stay quiet because a pastor is telling them to be terrified to speak up for fear of being called “unloving”? WAKE UP!!!!! The Left is shaping kids right now and THEY ARE NOT SHY ABOUT IT!!! They’re loud and absolutely relentless. They’re also ABSOLUTELY EVERYWHERE. In the schools, entertainment, social media, sports, corporations, and institutions that used to at least pretend to be neutral. Their messaging is constant, aggressive…AND it’s framed as pure, holy, morality! So… what’s going on with the Christian church these days? Is your highest moral principle really, “no one should ever feel uncomfortable”???? Sorry for the long rant here, I just feel, like I said before, strangely alone in it. As if I’m the problem for believing that truth matters more than feelings… like wanting to speak out against something that is wrong is somehow “unChristian” of me if it gets others angry, upset, or threatening… TOWARDS ME. Maybe I’ve got this wrong and I’m open to hearing it, but in general, I feel alone in this.
