NEWS: Google is rolling out AI-powered EV trip planning and battery predictions in Google Maps to over 350 car models with Android Auto. The update recommends when and where to charge based on your vehicle and battery level, showing estimated battery at arrival and adjusting ETAs with charging time, something that Tesla already does, but this Google Maps update will reduce the need for multiple apps in non-Tesla EVs. Google: "To deliver accurate battery predictions for hundreds of vehicles, we combine AI with advanced energy models that analyze car details — like weight and battery size — alongside Maps’ real-time information about traffic, road elevation and weather. This will allow us to bring intelligent trip-planning features to most U.S. EVs soon."

Elevators used to be manually operated and were especially risky if the operator was tired or inebriated. Now, you just get in, press a button and a modern elevator, if inspected regularly, is extremely safe.

Nobody is skeptical of autonomous elevators because nobody alive today was even around to see a human elevator operator in real life before the last one got laid off. Automation is far safer.

Pretty cool note I got from a tech CEO/founder who watched NCAAs about hiring wrestlers: “I'll say this: without question my favorite hiring profile is a D3 All-American wrestler. You competed in the darkness. No lights, no crowd, sometimes literally no one watching. You showed up anyway and you figured it out. Give me 10 of those guys and they're worth 50 fancy Ivy League degrees. Every time. The mat doesn't lie.” Thoughts?

This idea changed my life forever. In college I went from getting benched at the end of my sophomore season & starting 3rd on the depth chart the next spring, to an All-American and eventual 1st-round pick… all because of this one idea. I poured over film trying to figure out why I wasn’t playing well. That’s when it hit me: every single problem traced back to second guessing and indecision. So I made a commitment, I would make “instant decisions” on the field with zero regard for the outcome. After just 3 practices, I won my starting job back. It wasn’t until I made that commitment that the game slowed down. The rest is history.

Starlink in flight Wi-Fi review: "I just tried Starlink Wi-Fi on United — and I can't believe they're not charging for this. This is a game changer. The experience itself was surprisingly seamless. Once I logged in on my phone, I used a QR code to connect my laptop instantly, because yes you can connect unlimited devices. I even uploaded a 40-second TikTok, something I’ve never attempted mid-flight because it usually requires leaving the app open and hoping it doesn’t fail. With Starlink, it took about five minutes and worked on the first try. I can guarantee I’ll notice the difference the next time I fly without Wi-Fi like I experienced on this flight."
