The last time Gordon Brown had anything to do with governing us, it didn’t end well.

@jonsopel It’s not about personalities, it’s about results. Long way to go & I predict people will feel very differently about the state of the country in three years & the media love affair with Reform will be over. Why not bring in big-hitters with experience who can make a difference?

Hungary’s parliament sings “Ode to Joy” — the anthem of Europe — after Péter Magyar is sworn in as prime minister. Hungary is once again a proud member of the European Union.

🎙️ 🚨 Paul Scholes: “I’ll always take Marcus Rashford back at Manchester United because when you watch this team, they clearly lack a player with his qualities. Cunha is a very good player, but when Rashford is at his best, there’s no comparison between the two. 🔥🔴 Look at what he’s doing at Barcelona — the talent, the pace, the movement, it’s all still there. Selling him for just £30m would be a huge mistake in my opinion. United made a similar mistake with Scott McTominay and I hope they don’t repeat that again. 👀💣 Rashford is a big-game player. When he’s confident and in top form, he delivers. He’s still at a great age and has a lot to offer at the highest level. If you look at United’s current wingers, none of them have Rashford’s directness or ability to change a game on his own. He is not an injury player, if you want to win the league you need this kind of players who can come in and change the game, they need this kind of quality in the team. For me I think , bringing him back would be the right decision.”

@BethRigby @PippaCrerar He never stands up to scrutiny! A complete charlatan. He’s already done immeasurable damage this country with his Brexit lies that duped too many people. If the public let him anywhere near No 10 in 2029 they will get what they deserve - total disaster.

WATCH: Asked Nigel Farage last night abt his £5m gift from Christopher Harborne. Why did he not just declare? Does he regret that? What’s his response to those who argue it looks dodgy? He said my Qs were a “waste of space" & was clearly annoyed in what became a tense exchange

Nigel Farage told Sky's @BethRigby that he took a £5 million gift from crypto billionaire Christopher Harborne in early 2024, before he announced he would stand for parliament, for 'protection'

Bruno Fernandes is a worthy winner of FWA award. He’s been the beacon of #MUFC this season. First United player to be voted top since Wayne Rooney in 2010, which came in a period when six winners were not Premier League champions ⬇️ nytimes.com/athletic/72608…

@henrywinter As you know Henry, Manchester United became the first English side to win the TREBLE in 1999. As you also know, David Ginola, with 3 goals and 10 assists for a Spurs team that finished 11th in the PL, won the PFA Player of the Year award. Clearly the glory didn’t count then!

Congratulations to Bruno Fernandes voted Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year. Superb for Manchester United in a tough season. I voted Declan Rice for driving Arsenal to within touching distance now of the Premier League & Champions League. The game’s about glory.

I’m intrigued by the argument that Labour can’t change the leader as the Tories did. Does anyone think it was a bad idea when May was replaced by Johnson- when he won an 80 seat majority? Or that Johnson should have been replaced after Partygate? Or that Truss should have been replaced for being Truss? In each case, it minimised political damage.

@BBCNewsnight @MattChorley Fulled by personality-obsessed media coverage. Its constant. People need some patience. Not even two years in yet. It takes time for policies to positively impact. And remember these were , in the main, local elections. Three years to a GE, people & the media need to calm down!

Another hit for Russian backed candidate Mr Farage. A real newspaper might have devoted a front page or two to his five million quid “gift for security” (sic) Amazing what can happen when the son of a KGB agent owns a paper and Thailand crypto billionaire gives money to burn

Gary Neville, Paul Scholes, Roy Keane, they have zero affinity with Manchester United now. They're arrogant, almost to the point of basking in the club's failures. Rio Ferdinand, Owen Hargreaves, Wes Brown, Ryan Giggs, David Beckham, Wayne Rooney, Patrice Evra, many others, they all have that unconditional love. The Overlap has completely changed since they were invested in by Global in January. I don't even want to quote their posts anymore & give them what they want. Whatever care the others have, it is well & truly secondary to their own personal agendas & grievances.

None of them can or will answer this. Why should City give up home advantage to send their young players to a hostile environment of a theoretical* 70,000 to play their most important game of the season. *There were 3,189 fans at Old Trafford for Manchester United's FA Youth Cup semi-final against Crystal Palace on 17 April 2026
James Ducker@TelegraphDucker

Can’t understand why City not agreed to FA Youth Cup final being moved to Old Trafford with club ruling out Etihad in race to ready North Stand Ask those #MCFC U18 players if they’d prefer to play in front of 70,000 or 7,000 What an opportunity missed telegraph.co.uk/football/2026/…
