What’s happening in Germany has Alberta written all over it! Today’s tour of Alberta-based company @Eavor’s facility near Munich showed how geothermal is shaping the future of energy, built on Alberta innovation and driven by the expertise of Alberta’s skilled workforce. A powerful example of how our energy sector is diversifying and leading globally.

I’m sorry but who is doing your comms Sir? You are showing a newspaper headline about Daylight Savings Time and trying to make it about the Premier. This is just monumentally bad.
Naheed Nenshi@nenshi

It’s time to GO.

While Mayor of Calgary, Naheed Nenshi travelled to China on a trip bankrolled by the World Economic Forum and a Chinese government agency. He repeatedly billed taxpayers for trips to Davos and even accepted an all-expenses-paid stay at the Rockefeller Foundation’s retreat in Italy. Seeing him get this rattled when the facts are put on the record is something else.

Meet the Alberta NDP's new federal boss. Avi Lewis wants to hike taxes, ban new pipelines, and shut down oil and gas production. And he wants Naheed Nenshi as Premier. Same party. Same values. Same anti-Alberta agenda.

Can politicians grow the economy? I’m skeptical, but governments can create the conditions for growth. So, what have we done? We lowered personal income taxes down to 8%, saving families an extra $1,500 per year allowing families to keep more of what they earn. 💰 We secured a landmark energy MOU with Ottawa setting the conditions for new pipelines. 🛢️ We have also provided more certainty to ratepayers in our electricity market so to shield them from spiking prices. 💡 Our agri-processing investment tax credit is helping our farmers and ranchers get more Alberta products to market. 🌾 We brought down your rent by helping the private sector build new homes, faster. 🏠 A growing economy means we can strengthen our core services like healthcare and education, seniors care, and infrastructure. 👨‍⚕️ On top of this, Alberta is up 85,000 jobs over the past year. ⬆️ And we’re just starting.

Breaking news, I appreciate fair and accurate news coverage. I sent one email, almost a year ago, highlighting a surprising singular instance of balanced coverage from you. It was an outlier from your typical reporting, if you can call it that. For example, your tweet this AM:

@FreeAlbertaRob @SamBlackettAB Since you invited this…here is an email from the premiers press secretary applauding my coverage on this very topic. Your accusation is completely unfounded. Please delete it.

As the @albertaNDP says Bill 26 is “encroaching on federal jurisdiction,” I suggest they take a minute to read section 95 of The Constitution Act.

This weekend, NDP members elected self-declared “eco-socialist” Avi Lewis @avilewis as their leader. Lewis has called for a full ban on new pipelines and all fossil fuel development, at a time when the world needs Alberta energy more than ever. And while Naheed Nenshi @nenshi may try to distance himself, the Alberta NDP’s own constitution makes clear they are tied to the federal party. The truth is, the Alberta NDP has a long track record of opposing pipelines and energy development. Their extreme views are a danger to jobs and affordability. The UCP will never stop fighting against radical forces, including the Alberta NDP, who want to shut down our economy and keep our resources in the ground.
