Xiaomi has launched 2nd gen Su7 @ px of 219.9k to 309.9k RMB. The 1st gen had 381k in total sales. Uses High Voltage SiC platform for 720 to 902 km range & supports 3.5C to 5.2C charging. Max version has 835km range & allows 10-80% charging in 12 min (15min for 670 km range).

The idea that millennials were the first generation to do this is laughable. Ofc, you see this stuff from Gen X and boomers too.
People literally cannot (or will not) consider the world before they were born.

Millennials are the elite generation because they cranked out 12-page essays the night before they were due. No ChatGPT. No Claude. Just lo-fi beats playing in the background, Black coffee at midnight, footnotes that were somehow correct, and pure delusion. Grade was an A minus. Period.

I like FSD and use it when I get a rental Tesla. But fewer than 15 percent of *Tesla drivers* ever pay for FSD so no self driving will not save Tesla.

Here's the original video, which looks like it's actual speed. I used two markers and consistently measured it. It took 75 frames in a 30 FPS video to travel 212.63 ft equating to 57.9 MPH (probably 60). The incident occurred in August of 2025. These are just facts. Yes the driver should have intervened sooner. Yes, FSD was approaching way too fast.

The $TSLA forecast on Kalshi for Q1 is now 342,000 vehicles. I think there's a chance we approach 350k due to discounts and such, plus more availability of the Standard variants. As for margins, well...

@JohnGalt_Who_Is Battery tech has come a long way - it just wasn't ready then. It's a reminder that inventions build upon inventions.

@IBD_ECarson He is regarded as "the father of electrical engineering" and what I remember about reading about him was his work on electric vehicles circa ~1914 (and Steinmetz Electric Motor Car Company (1920–1923).

@JohnGalt_Who_Is I haven't looked at this in detail. But battery cells can be packed for EV batteries or storage.
I don't know the battery chemistry here . A lot of U.S. EV batteries are traditional lithium ion but storage has been moving to safer LFP - and space less pressing.

@IBD_ECarson None of this is my wheelhouse (pun intended). Any sense that they might be useful for building whole-house battery systems or, because they were built for cars, their form factor may be best applied there?

Basically every automaker in China is stepping up their game - including foreign brands that are fighting to stay relevant - with one huge exception.
