His name was Devkrishna Purohit. He was a chilli merchant in Gondikheda Charan village in Madhya Pradesh’s Dhar district. On the night of April 7 2026 he was found dead at his home with a 12 inch deep head wound. His wife Priyanka told police three or four unknown assailants broke in, tied them both up in separate rooms, looted jewellery worth Rs 3 lakh and killed Devkrishna when he resisted. Police did not believe it. The wound was too deep. The robbery too theatrical. Investigators found that Priyanka had been in a relationship with a man named Kamlesh Purohit from Rajgarh. Kamlesh had paid Rs 1 lakh to a hired killer named Surendra Singh to carry out the murder. Police have arrested Priyanka and Kamlesh. The contract killer is still being hunted. His sister Jyoti told police that Priyanka had taunted Devkrishna for years. She called him dark skinned. She said he did not deserve her. He was a chilli merchant from a village in Madhya Pradesh. She staged a robbery. He deserved better.
