इजरायल ने बुधवार को अमेरिका के साथ मिलकर दुनिया के सबसे बड़े गैस फील्ड ईरान के साउथ पार्स गैस फील्ड पर जोरदार हमला किया. इस हमले से ईरान बौखला गया है और उसने धमकी दी है कि वो खाड़ी क्षेत्र के तेल और गैस फील्ड्स पर बड़े हमले करेगा. ईरान ने धमकी देते हुए कहा कि वो आने वाले कुछ घंटों में सऊदी अरब, संयुक्त अरब अमीरात (UAE) और कतर के पांच ऊर्जा ठिकानों को निशाना बनाएगा. हमले और फिर ईरान की धमकी के बाद तेल और गैस की कीमतें आसमान छू रही हैं.
ईरान की न्यूज एजेंसी तस्नीम ने इस खबर की पुष्टि की जिसके बाद तेल की कीमतें उछलकर लगभग 110 डॉलर प्रति बैरल तक पहुंच गईं. वैश्विक बेंचमार्क ब्रेंट क्रूड ऑयल 14:30 GMT के बाद 109.91 डॉलर प्रति बैरल तक पहुंच गया, जो मंगलवार की कीमतों से 5% से अधिक है. न्यूज एजेंसी की रिपोर्ट में कहा गया कि साउथ पार्स गैस फील्ड पर ईरान के पेट्रोकेमिकल कॉम्प्लेक्स को निशाना बनाया गया. यूके का बेंचमार्क गैस प्राइस भी 6% बढ़कर 143.53 पेंस प्रति थर्म तक पहुंच गया, हालांकि बाद में यह 140 पेंस से नीचे आ गया.

Hours ago, U.S. officials told reporters Trump knew about Israel's strike on South Pars in advance and supported it.
Now Trump is on Truth Social saying the U.S. "knew nothing about this particular attack" and that Israel "violently lashed out" at the gas field "out of anger."
He then threatened to "massively blow up the entirety of the South Pars Gas Field" if Iran hits Qatar's LNG again, while simultaneously saying he doesn't want to authorize that level of destruction.

* Navy escorts already running for some tankers
* Heavy pressure on allies (UK, France, Gulf states, even Japan) to send warships
* Threats of direct U.S. action if Iran keeps laying mines & hitting ships
* Diplomatic push (talks with Oman, Qatar, UAE) + economic leverage (waiving some Russian oil sanctions to calm prices)
Why it matters:
- 20% of world oil + huge LNG flows through that 21-mile choke point.
- Iran’s blockade = global energy shock.
Trump wants a coalition so the U.S. doesn’t pay the full bill but so far it’s mostly American ships & threats.
