🚨“No Kings” Protests Planned Across Iowa This Saturday, March 28
Organizers are calling for more than 50 “No Kings” rallies in communities across Iowa this weekend — from Des Moines and Cedar Rapids to smaller towns like Ames, Council Bluffs, Iowa City, Davenport, and dozens more.
👉Key events include:
Des Moines: Noon at the Iowa State Capitol, plus 11:30 a.m.–2 p.m. at Pappajohn Sculpture Park
Protests in places like Ankeny, Boone, Carroll, Clinton, Algona, Storm Lake, and many others.
These demonstrations are part of a national push against President Trump’s policies on immigration enforcement, executive actions, and what organizers call concerns over democracy and federal power.
Iowa went strongly for Trump in November, reflecting broad support for stronger borders, economic focus, and law and order. In a state known for its hardworking farmers, families, and conservative values, these events are likely to be most visible in college towns and urban pockets rather than rural heartland areas.
Protests are a longstanding American right, but many Iowans may wonder about the timing and whether they’ll lead to real solutions — or just more division and possible traffic disruptions on a busy weekend.
