Lol, the government has withheld my mom's salary for 9 months now. Around November last year, I told her to quit the job and I'd pay her the salary on top of the monthly upkeep I do give her, but she disagreed. In December, I lost my job 😅. Funny enough, the reason was that my CEO's parents were getting divorced, so they had to shut down the company because it was a family business. That same December, my dad's health got much worse. I wasn't even concerned about myself anymore, I was more worried about how to provide for his drugs. (He's been paralyzed by a stroke for 3 years and is also battling diabetes) It was a really tough month. We spent close to 800k on hospital bills and drugs. I couldn't tell anyone I have lost my job because it would throw the whole family into panic. Last month, he fell sick again. I had to sell my last crypto after discovering I had just 54 naira in my account. While trying to off-ramp, I got carried away, entered the wrong bank details, and almost 290k was sent to a different Opay account. I called the number and a market woman picked up, she’s barely literate. Everywhere felt so dark, but I held on to the promises of God. That same week, I lost my dad. The most painful part was that he asked my mum to call us that he’s about to die but before we got home, he had left Life can be so crazy sometimes, but regardless, we have to keep moving.
