This is why the people of Indonesia oppose the revision of the Military Law, as it would open opportunities for the subjugation of the populace by the military to serve the ambitions of the extractive oligarchy.

The deployment of the military to seize people's land, intimidate the population, and ensure that extractive projects disguised as 'national interests' run smoothly has become inevitable.

March 20, 2025, marked a significant moment as the President of Indonesia, a former military officer implicated in severe human rights violations during the 1998 events, reached an agreement with the parliament to pass the Military Law.
