Residents of Abia State, especially Umuahia, the capital, are actively lamenting and protesting that their electricity bills from the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) now rival or exceed monthly house rents in many cases. This has become a major local issue, with fresh protests and detailed coverage in today’s Vanguard newspaper. Many households previously paid ₦6,000 to ₦14,000 monthly, as recently as mid-2025). Now, bills commonly range from ₦50,000 to ₦70,000 l, some as high as ₦80,000 to ₦90,000 or even ₦100,000 in extremes. One civil servant, Harrison Ogbonnaya, stated that in January was ₦68,689.81, February was ₦56,303.12 and March was ₦55,761.61. He paid ₦40,000 but was still disconnected and hit with extra reconnection fees. Business owners are paying ₦65,000 to ₦80,000, while some are up to ₦90,000 on estimated billing. Meanwhile, house rent comparison Umuahia for a 3-bedroom apartment is ₦350,000 to ₦550,000 per year, which is roughly ₦29,000 to ₦46,000 per month. Residents say electricity now costs more than shelter in many households. Source: VANGUARD

President Tinubu Has Already Been Reelected Going By The Unity and Synchronicity Displayed At The APC Convention! Did you see how sleek and organised the APC convention has been? If you saw that and still believe in this fantasy that ANYBODY in the political nursery school called the African Democratic Congress can unseat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, you need to listen to Soul II Soul's runaway hit, 'Back to Life', and come back to reality. The All Progressives Congress convention was precise, and most went like clockwork. How so many people can be gathered in such a hitch-free manner has to be studied! No divisions, factions, or frictions. It was one big happy family. Unlike any other major political party in Nigeria. You must give it to them. This is a movement that knows how to manage its success. The President and Vice President are united. We remember a bygone era under a different dispensation when that was not the case. The First and Second Ladies were there, and it was clear. The APC has thirty-one governors, and they all turned up for the convention together, smiling and high-fiving. Meanwhile, the ADC has none, yet is so fraught with division and infighting over who gets the Presidential ticket, with Peter Obi and his motley cries of shrinking Obidients, who do not have the decency not to insult other contenders for the ADC's Presidential ticket, have already caused so much tension and division in that party, if you can call it that, that the ADC spokesman was forced to release an official rebuke, which the spokesman for the Obidient movement responded to as usual, with subtle insults. The ADC is divided. We have just heard from the Turaki-led PDP that they have rejected all peace moves and are heading to the Supreme Court. But then look at the unity in diversity displayed in Abuja yesterday and today. For forty-eight hours, the APC has been gathered in their tens of thousands at Eagles Square, Abuja, and there have been no reports of violence or opulence, only congruence. And you think people who cannot even organise themselves, and rather antagonise each other, will dislodge such an enterprise? Who are you kidding? Even the only Governor elected on the Labour Party platform before Obi predictably jumped ship, has publicly stated that he will not oppose the President's reelection. In other words, he has told Obi that he would not support his candidacy, whether or not he gets the ADC ticket, which is a pipe dream for Obi anyway. People who cannot manage their own failure cannot take on a team that is managing their own success! And it is not that these political parties, the PDP and the ADC, are in turmoil. They are also blaming the APC for their own failures. Let us even, for the sake of argument, say that their desperation to hide their incompetence by blaming the APC is valid; is that not an indictment? If you cannot protect yourselves from an outside force, then how can you win the confidence of the larger public? Is it the APC that has made the Obidient movement daily hurl invectives at Waziri Atiku Abubakar and Rotimi Amaechi, and their support base? Is it the APC that sponsored Dele Momodu to cause friction in the ADC by calling on that opportunistic gathering to zone the Presidential ticket of the party to the North, thereby leaving Southern contenders high and dry? Is the APC the cause of the infighting in various state chapters of the ADC that culminated in the shooting incident in Benin City last month? The ADC is not a party, it is a calamity without unity. And the PDP is a little better, even if it's a little more bitter. And that saddens me, because the PDP should offer a viable opposition. Instead, they are showing erosion. What a pity! And now, the whole nation has just seen an almost insane level of discipline and cohesion on display at the centre of Abuja by the APC, and you think Nigeria will leave that procession for the profusion of confusion in the ADC and PDP?

They are both not serious. Some people just like to make marriage look like quantum mechanics. For the man: 1. You called and she explained why she’s not home 2. After explaining, your responsibility as a man is to gently communicate your position to her, asking why she didn’t tell you upfront. Silence in marriage is not healthy communication. (Prov 15:1) 3. If she doesn’t admit her faults after telling her, you carefully explain to her the consequences of her actions and that she should not be pissed if you do not to care another time it happens. For the wife: 1. Before taking an action, did you check if it’s something you’d like to be on the receiving end? 2. If it’s an unintentional oversight - unless your marriage is already toxic - your first reaction is to understand that he’s asking cos he cares and not because he wants to control you. Thus, the right thing to do is apologize for not informing him ahead that you’d be late. 3. As a kind man that your husband should be, that should be enough. Unless it’s become a habit for you in which case you’re intentionally trying to get him furious. To Dr Love, I’d recommend you don’t use the ‘boss’ example for instances like this. A man is not the boss of his wife. He’s her partner and a leader. Leaders lead by example. The difference is that a boss can do things and rebuke his or her subordinates if they do the same. Likewise, there’s no equity in a boss-employee relationship unlike in marriage. Finally, dear men, the responsibility of a successful or failed marriage lies solely on YOU. Not your wife, not your children and not even your parents. You steer the ship and if you steer it right, you’d have peace 1 Cor. 13:4, 1 Cor. 16:14, 1 Peter 3:8, Eph 4:2,

A lady I know closes work by 5pm and usually gets home around 6pm. One day, after work, she decided to get her hair done at a salon near her office and stayed there till about 7pm. Her husband called to ask why she wasn’t home yet. She told him she was at the salon and would be back soon. When she got home, he didn’t speak to her. She also refused to speak to him. Her reason? “It’s aura for aura. Why can’t he understand I was getting my hair done? I asked her a simple question: “Did you inform him ahead of time that you would be late because you wanted to do your hair?” She said no. She was in a hurry and told him only when he called. But why can't he understand that I was getting my hair done? So I asked again: “Would you communicate lateness to work, to your boss this same way? She paused. Then said, “Is he my boss? I gently said to her "rebellious daughter of EVE Please go and apologize to your husband.. She laughed... But she finally got the point... I’m sharing this to show one of the quiet ways women introduce chaos into their homes #conversationsthatmatter #relationship #marriage

Today marks another year of grace. I’m grateful for the journey, for the family, the fold, real friends, and for our LORD, who seizes upon the reach of one’s faith to supply all we need to be and to do all that He has called us to. I thank Him for all the moments along the way. And somewhere through the years, I’ve learned this: Purpose is not something you chase. It is something you commit to — daily, quietly, faithfully. Every year is a reminder that life is not measured by applause, but by impact. Not by how loud the moment is, but by how deeply it shapes persons, people, and populations. I’m grateful for the journey so far — for the privilege of serving, for the lives I’ve been allowed to walk with, and for the grace to keep showing up. This season reminds me that there is still more to do. More to give. More to build. More to speak. More ground ahead to cover. So today, I give thanks — for life, for love, for purpose, and for the strength to keep going. The LORD Himself be praised.

The ring that I gave to my lovely wife, when I proposed to her, did not cost more than N5k. My marriage is not up to 20 years old. In 2025, a 30 year old man spent N1m to propose to his virgin girlfriend. But he's crying. Even with inflation, 5k almost 20 years ago, is not up to N100k in 2025. I'm still married to my lovely wife, & happy with my choice. He has blocked his 28 virgin girlfriend that he proposed to, & doesn't want to marry her. I proposed to my lovely wife, when she was almost 28. Today, she's worth far more than N1m to me. And I'm worth far more than N5k. She can dash 200 people 5k, & she won't blink. I can dash fat more, and I'll still be good. And our lovely children are growing & making us proud. He's still searching for the right woman to make his wife. Even after spending N1m on proposal, his virgin girlfriend asked him... "What have you ever done for me?" End.
