Putting a '❌' in your name doesn't mean you're shadow banned. It means people aren't interested enough in your opinion to take any notice.

@bmay Its not even the Labour Party, its the PLP. A group of MP's have taken it upon themselves to anoint their chosen PM, totally ignoring the membership and even the country. 20k people in Makerfield have elected the next PM.

My strong gut feeling is that the Labour Party is having a very excited, almost delirious conversation with itself that will completely fail to connect with the vast majority of the country beyond some parts of northern England.

Uh oh here we go. All the hard work Starmer did to rid Labour of its unelectability is already going in the bin. This is going to be a catastrophe for Labour. It’s not Burnham per se, it’s what he’ll let back in.

@FredThomasUK @AndyBurnhamGM You and your PLP colleagues disgust me. The members chose Starmer, the electorate chose a Labour govt lead by him. You’ve all backdoored someone the members rejected twice. Enjoy it whilst it lasts, I suspect you’ll be history in a short while

20k people in Makerfield have chosen the next PM. We used to criticise the Tories for this kind of behaviour. Utterly disgusting.

At least the British people now know where they stand. Even if they vote in a PM with a massive majority he or she will be forced from office if the UK media decide they don't like them. They will push and undermine until Farage is in Number 10. It's what their owners want.

Keir has given huge service to our country and I want to thank him for his leadership and dedication during such a challenging period. His decision marks the beginning of a transition and it is important that this process is conducted in an orderly and responsible way. I will put myself forward as part of this process. The country expects stability, seriousness and a continued focus on the issues that matter most and that is what it will get. As we move forward, our priority must be to work together to get the country back to where we all want it to be. People want to see progress on economic growth, cost of living, public services, housing and opportunities for the next generation. Political change should never distract from the responsibility to improve people's lives. The Labour movement has always been at its strongest when it looks forward with confidence and purpose. This is what we will do from here and we will make sure this transition is a positive process of renewal for our party and our country.

Well that marked the end of our brief two years as a serious country again. Well done everyone. Back to vibes, shits and giggles it is. Britain is done. I am ashamed.

My sense is that, unpopular though Starmer undoubtedly is, much of the electorate are not happy with the prospect of a Prime Minister being overthrown by a combination of a media frenzy, desperate Labour MPs, and the personal ambition of Andy Burnham.

It is for our members to decide who leads our Party & 10 months ago they gave Jeremy Corbyn a resounding mandate. I respect that & them. 3/3

@jon_trickett @tribunemagazine No, it doesn’t. We don’t need a leadership challenge and we don’t need Andy Burnham. The electorate are sick of a merry go round of people in the PM seat. Starmer is doing a decent job after inheriting a mess, let him get on with it

@UKLabour if the PLP force out a democratically elected leader who, despite the media, is doing a damn fine job, I’ll cast my vote and then I’m done.
